It appears I only have 1 “crew” member between me and dad so i have 3 spots if anyone needs them.

You personally or someone with you?

You personally or someone with you?[/quote] Just me. I’ll be spectating and rabble-rousing. If you have anything that somebody can do 2 months after back surgery, I’ll do that for ya!!

Open my beer and tell me I’m awesome.

This could get confusing. That’s what my wife tells me to do.

Now that was funny

Well shoot. Looks like I’m out for that weekend. I was looking forward to hanging out and watching some great racing.

My darling wife lined up sitters for that whole weekend so we can get some time away. For some reason, she prefers the beach over Braselton.

Ouch. Not an even trade. Sorry.

Offer still open for whomever.

Can I get a refund? All the last minute NASA rules to prevent cheating is whack. Test port, gas at the track, HP rules, dyno, etc is SHIT! and I’m not bringing every tool I own to be able to disassemble my intake, etc… FUCK that and all you who buy into that!! Next step is a crate motor like SCCA. Cheaters will be cheaters. I fix my shit when it breaks (explodes) or the bolts come loose. I’m not the best driver but I spend my money on fresh tires and brakes when possible and try to keep all the critical component from falling off the car. Nothing against any of the other SpecE30 drivers (unless your cheaters), but I rather take my $800 and go to another Chumpcar race. I will never spend 6k on a Stickley motor and never run more than 93 octane, or spend hours and hours wrenching and grinding on the car trying to find ways to cheat!

If I can’t get a refund I will be there battling it out for whatever position I finish. Not many power poles where all the SpecE30s are paddocked so I guess I will have to skip the drinking and get a hotel room. :-/

Yes, Despicable Me! I should have a couple pit crew bands left over if anyone needs them… Nobody want to come see me. :-/ I doubt anyone is paying $40 to come watch anyone. WTF!

I heard a rumor that the admission fee is a track thing. I’m betting NASA doesn’t want to start a shit storm by blaming it on the track which is why they have made no comment. As this is not your typical track rental, it was probably a negotiated thing. NASA wants this, track wants this, etc.

Either way I appreciate the opportunity to do what I love. Racing is expensive but there is nothing I can think of that is more bang for the buck. No judgement here on anyone’s complaints as they are all legit and we are all passionate about what we love. But I’ve learned to be thankful that I am alive and racing. The rest is all relative.

Gas at the track is $1 more than at the pump. At most we’re talking about <$20. No test port needed. Hp rule is unchanged National rules. It’s pretty hard to imagine that non-podium types will be doing any disassembly. I’ve no idea what is going to happen at impound but has a SpecE30 at Nats ever been required to disassemble an engine?

#93

Non-podium types sounds better than mid-pack blockers. I have to come anyway and deliver some brake pads to St. Grace. If anyone else need last minute pads/rotors give KNSBrakes a call and I can bring them when I drive down on Wednesday.

Do non-podium types still need a dyno sheet?

I’m also bringing a few extra t-shirts just in case the chupacabra is on the prowl.

Hey Paul

Everyone knows Chumpcar is where the cheaters go…you think there aren’t any Chuck motors there?? Did you catch that post from Perry about how nice it was of them to not protest SRI’s modified stock rear springs?? Geez and you get zero crew passes with them, $25 a pop for each crew after the $1000 entry fee…damn. But the same “rules” apply, you gotta ha ve yo shit together to win at either, one mech problem or spin means trouble whoever keeps it on the pavement and doesn’t break will have a shot. And everyone should be more worried about rough driving protests more than spec/engine rules…

Hell, if you are serious just add some weight and run GTS1, I think 150 HP is 2775lbs but yea you gotta have a dyno cert…

Al

I will be there Al… I’m not missing all the carnage and shenanigans. Hope you bring down a bunch of spare parts!

There is no requirement for a dyno sheet.

#98

Paul, try to think positive. You’ll be definitely hurting yourself wasting your energy fighting the system. The rules are set, go with them.

And I just sold the Chuck Stickley motor to a chump team. Oh well. :woohoo:

#99

Prepped for nats today. It was very nice of dad to wash my car while I finished his. Probably should have told him to make sure not to let water splash the ECU. Bzzzzt. Click click bzzzzt.
