VIR this past weekend

We are reviewing all the incidents (Cobetto at VIR in Feb, Carter and Matt at VIR in March) from the '07 Mid Atlantic season.

In the next few days, I will discuss these incidents with the drivers involved and we will follow the CCR procedures. We’ll have to do it by email (to have a written record that I will submit to NASA Mid Atlantic) but we’ll get through it without too much difficulty or time invested. And because I am the Race Director, we can handle this on our own by using our drivers for the IRB. And every driver always has the right to appeal the IRB decisions, and my Race Director decisions, per the CCR.

Specifically, by telling Mike, after I shoved him sideways at VIR, to find three drivers and have them make a decision, I/he basically formed an IRB for my incident. I ask them to email their decision to me, for the record. I understand that they have consulted the CCR so I consider their decision to be final, resolving my incident within the CCR procedures.

I’ll be out of town with my son’s Indian Guides tribe from 2:00 pm tomorrow until Sunday night, and will not have access to email.

We’ll get it done early next week.

So the light bulb finally goes on…Carter Hunt is the Race Director for Mid Atlantic.

My apologies for this glaring oversight. The Race Director for a given region carries rule and penalty clout. The Mid Atlantic region should be in good shape.

The spec e30 administrator has to work through the the Race Director to discuss on track problems. For the Southeast we’ll defer to David Cullen problems that cannot be handled.

[/quote]This is where I am getting confused. In MA, JJ is the Race Director, I am guessing that Carter has been appointed Series Race Director? Carter, will you explain this a little more please?

Whoa, not trying to stur up any trouble here.Just to understand the order of things.

Race Director trumps spec administration, CCRs trump spec administration.

Understand the pecking order for rules and the order at the track and things should go smoother.

JJ is the NASA Mid Atlantic Race Director for all races and all run groups, from what I understand.

I am the Spec E30 Race Director and am under the NASA Mid Atlantic Race Director.

Pecking order in the Mid Atlantic…

  1. Drivers
  2. IRB
  3. Spec E30 Race Director (Carter)
  4. NASA Mid Atlantic Race Director (JJ)
  5. NASA Mid Atlantic Regional Director (CC)
