NASA SE Race at Roebling Road for $75

Yep, that headline got your attention.

But, I did have a conversation with Jim Pantas about that very idea. The race would be the final event on Saturday and we would be paying the track overtime fees.

To keep the other race groups from crying "foul" we would have the race entry fee going to a "sponsor" who would then pay the track.

So, what do you think?

The potential sponsor has already relented to an inverted start…now this is starting to sound really fun, the inverted field challenge (IFC Cup?).

The Roebling race is shaping up to be the biggest Spec E30 gathering to date with 23 cars in the field. How about those of you in other regions comming on down to Robeling next weekend 9/29-30?

I’ll let you know if we can get the third race for Saturday PM.

Are you in?

Regards, Robert Patton

sounds very interesting! I know dad wants to come down there already but it’s a decent drive for us.

#3

Mike your participation is delaying the office pool submissions (see SE discussions). Ya’ll gotta get off the fence.

Great racin at Mid Ohio.

I’m in for sure! Great, with an inverted start, I can go from mid pack to mid pack.

If the Davidsons come down, I’m changing my pics.

#5

I’m up for whatever, would this be another mini enduro similar to Rockingham? Like 55 min-ish? Or is that asking too much.

#6

I think Geegur needs to make a super-sweet IFC Cup trophy for the winner.

I love inverted starts.

#7

Count me in!

Mike D, I’m willing to bribe you to come to the race… if you come to the race I’ll give you my drivers side projection headlights and the parts a pieces from the passenger side. It’s not much, but I know you want them.

#8

I’m down…like James Brown.

In the ground.

Since Travis took James I’ll take the Irish guy

I’m in like Flynn!

#10

How about letting some the GTS guys in on that fun run. I’d even start last.

#11

Count me in too!

#12

Sounds like a great plan, count me in.

What time is the last race on Sunday? It is looking like 7.5 hrs for us and I need to be at work early Monday.
Thanks,
Ed

Sold!

I’m going from midpack to one spot ahead of JP, midpack. IFC Cup Trophy? Good call Skeen. It will be for 9th place, obviously, since it’s an inverted start (let alone the fact that there’s 23 entries). I think I can whip one up, despite the short notice. The best part of this scenario is that late Saturday means that Travis and Al (aka the entire MLT team) will not be able to resist the delicious temptations calling them from inside of their coolers, giving me an even greater shot at a 6th place finish… Standing start just to keep it interesting? Or is that just crazy talk?

Sign me up!

I’m up for it…

Make it happen Patton!!!

Patton,

While you putting pressure on Pantis, can you get him to make sure the Sunday Spec E30 race is early enought to get the Davidsons on the road?

You should have know better than to try to make everyone happy…

Thanks for looking out for us.

If the "extra" race is not too late I would be in for it. I just don’t want to be getting home too late Sunday night.

Oops…It isn’t going to happen.

That’s what I get for typing things in too earily.

Regardless, you’ll want to know that your sponsor-Factory 3 Performance; your sanctioning body-NASA SE; your Spec e30 ra ra guy-that’s me; and your spec e30 racers -that’s you, all were on board with the idea.

But, with the infamous track management at Roebling Road and their "sound" and late policies, the idea was too good to be true.

We’ll keep the idea in mind and implement it elsewhere.

Regards, Robert Patton
