What I do to you Simon? I promise that 20psi in the Toyo’s is the fast way around. And for those of you that don’t know Simon, don’t let him try his idea of "bump drafting" with you. He is not real good on the timing.

I hate to say it but had to cancel my entry…my new car is pretty much done and I have been driving it on the street for the past week or so. There is some kind of major noise going on in the engine that is getting worse. It is getting so loud that even non mechanical people are say "what is wrong with that engine…" I thought it was coming from the top end (NEW cam, rockers, shafts, springs) but yesterday my cage guy said it sounded more like wrist pin knock. I am worried that since it (noise) is getting worse, it is the NEW camshaft destroying itself against the new rockers. I had a lond discussion with my supplier about fears of a made in china aftermarket cam that I had heard some horror stories about. He assured me that there would be no such problems with his product. The guy that assembled the head is well known and used by several other spec e30 competitors. I dont think there is anything that I could have done during the head install to screw it up…besides fiddling with the #6 rod bearing but I did use new stretch bolts on it and tourqued to spec. All this comes on top of the rush to get the car done and I just dont think it would be wise to bring it to Mid-O. Hopefully I can get it sorted for RRR the end of the month.

Al, Throw a used M20 in the back of the wagon and we can install it on Thursday or even Wednesday evening. If I have to I will take the engine out of the ITS car and you can use it. Do what you have to do to make it.

I appreciate the offer, I have been hammering away on this car for the past month, and am burnt to a crisp. At this point I am just too tired to continue and I dont think it is a good idea to drag an untested car up there…

Anymore input on a get together? I have not checked the schedule to see if there is a NASA sponsored thing as I suspect there is. Lemme know what you guys think and who is interested, otherwise I’m not going to really set up for a large group. Cheers.

Thursday there is a gathering and driver’s meeting, so sounds like Fri/Sat night would be best.

You guys all have a good time. I will not be attending because of work issues.
It was really fun last year and if they have that hospitality thing at the Prison, go…it was well worth it last year. Take the tour…

I second Michael’s offer. I will be camping at the track and will also help with the engine swap. C’mon Al… It is not going to be the same without having the "Al Hex" around :slight_smile: We will make sure you get it done! How can you pass on a race?

I’m in on the swap as well. Give me a call by 5am and I can bring a head, intake - other misc motor parts - just not the bottom end.
