Those ads have done the trick…I am looking forward to seeing the show.
What were you driving Anthony?

Hey Guys,
Bill Howell here, coming from the other side of the tracks, I R one of the rednecks. (I never tell anyone that I have owned a 735i or the fact that my wife drives a E320 now, please keep that between us).
Anthony was a great competitor and a good sport with the whole nature of the show. I think you will find the whole series of show entertaining, but as you can see in the previews, there was certainly real racing(and rubbing) going on.
I found this thread searching about the show, so thought I would drop by and say Hi Yall (Hello).
LOL

Senior Redneck
Bill, it will be obvious when we tune in, but what will you be driving?
RP
Blue Fairlane-redneck’s car that was driving Camaro, I filled in for him in the fairlane
Blue Firebird- canadian redneck’s car that did not get paperwork in soon enough and could not be filmed.
Gray Charger- my car
Hey Bill! Welcome
Thanks for the kind words. It was an experience, to say the least! The contact and the ensuing slap were pure gold for a reality TV series, eh? I know enough to know that not all the cards are shown in the previews. I think there might just be enough surprises to hook even non-rednecks
Thanks Anthony,
Of course it was made for TV, but as you well know, everyone took their driving seriously and for the people that haven’t seen any of the shows to automatically assume it was a staged are clueless. We had a blast and in the end, I think everyone left as friends and both the “rednecks” and “punks” gained mutual respect for each other’s preference in the car hobby. I know I did.
Here is a link to the brand new Hot Rod magazine article about the show. They were there doing pictures and stories too.

Holy shit so that was you. For the last week I’ve been watching the Daytona 24 on the DVR. They’ve shown the preview trailer about 20x. The first time I saw the trailer and saw a driver get whacked I thought “Holy shit was that Magnolia?”
What the hell do I know about a reality show. I mean sure, they try to create conflict and get people pissed off at each other, but would they stage a bitch-slap or was it real? And what do you do? Come charging out of the car and pile on to the other guy to the delight of the cameras, and ultimately to the dismay of your criminal defense lawyer?
I mean heck, taking a sneaky whack is pretty much intolerable. But then there’s the cameras that on the one hand are absolutely begging you to take action, but will then be used to put you behind bars. What an lousy situation to be in.

I hope this link works guys. Brand new video from speed introducing the rednecks.
you may see someone you know. IF link won’t work, go to facebook and search for
R U Faster Than a Redneck page. then the video is about the first thing.
Bill,
If you know of other forums that are having good discussions on the show, can you link them here or in an email to me? amagagnoli@gmail.com
Thanks!
Most all of us rednecks hang out on www.pro-touring.com so there are plenty of threads, and backgrounds on us over there.
Brian, Yancy and myself own American Street Car Series and that is where most of us go for our events. We do them all over the country, the next one is Run to the Coast in Irvine, ca. Feb.22-24. We will do one in Kershaw in april. You can see our schedule on our www.americanstreetcarseries.com
And we welcome all cars, not just about muscle. It is fun to compare all cars with ours.
One of those programs you watch thinking it will het better and sure enough it present. The host is total ass!!
It was pretty much what I expected. In fact I thought the stuff with Ken Squire was funny.
And what is up with Kenny Wallace in a 600hp Firebird? C’mon man. I was surprised to see the guy in the Lambo do as well as he did.
Actually track was totally tilted toward the red necks…long straights and tight corners…wish they had run the full track.
Anthony, when do you appear?
They definitely set it up for anyone without 600 hp to really struggle in the show. I mean who seriously wants to see the short version of CMP other than Chump Car racers and IFU drivers. As long as you look at the show as entertainment and don’t get upset when the imports lose, it can be enjoyable to watch.
I’ll be on NEXT MONDAY, March 4th, at 9pm EST!
Just remember guys… The racing on the track was real. The rest was “reality” (tv).
