How colorful is SpecE30?

#1

I’ve looked through pretty much all the pics in the gallery and find that SpecE30 cars are very colorful! I think it’s super cool to see all these different colored cars…green, yellow, blue/white, black, white, red, silver, probably others that I’m forgetting. It’s neat that people are doing some paint schemes, I’m just a big fan of paint schemed race cars, looks really cool.

Anyway, not much point to this post, general discussion, I like the painted cars, makes for nice pics too!

Does this mean I should rethink my Audi TT battleship gray paint scheme?

The current, avant garde sans clearcoat look of my coupe will soon give way to a Pantone Reflex Blue (or the cheapest color that’s close) with a pair of Shelby GT350-style white stripes down the top of the body.

(My first car is a '65 Mustang drop top in Caspian Blue.)

Edit: Crappy artist’s conception attached.

Comming soon to NASA SE and MA race venues, the Checker Cab, for door spec e30 car with complete Atlanta Checker Cab decals. Wonder if the roof top cab sign can be added? Regards, Robert Patton

Oh no, never! Even different shades of the same color help to fill the rainbow! Maybe at Summit or VIR next year when there’s a 20 car field we can all line up like a rainbow for a grand Technicolor pic! ; )

I quite like that actually. Hey you should invert that and do GT40 instead. ; ) I’m starting to think I should do a Gulf blue/orange thing!

Hey I hear you have a siren/lights too! BTW, you left me a voicemail eons ago and I meant to return your call. Lost the voicemail…how to reach you via phone? Or call me…whatever, just wanted to follow up and speak to you. Cheers!

Of course, I can always run the stock powdered clearcoat look. It looks appropriate with the Mad Max fog light guards.

Hey, how about Chicago style grafiti look? Problem with that is you’ll have to take time to make sure any appropriate stickers blend in nicely.

Here’s mine. Nothing too crazy, just a little accent on the black.

Hey that doesn’t look like a SpecE30 wing! ; ) Put a big orange dot on the car and you can be a rolling meatball flag!

Like I’ve said, I got a lot of stuff to remove from my almost maxed out KP car.

I forget now whether you ever stated what all your car has done to it. Any interest in trading down for an already-legal spec e30 car?

I’m not sure I understand why you would want to take this car & make it a spec car insted of just racing in KP with the BMW CR and as a GTS car with NASA? Not trying to talk you out of spec e30, of course.

I want to see a field of BMW Art cars.

Come on guys…grab some paint and go nuts!!!

I know a few people building SpecE30’s and I’d rather be out there racing with them. If I had the space, I’d just build another car, but I don’t.

I’m planning on doing Flat Black with Flames in a 50’s hot rod motif. Do you think anyone will have issues with this do to the "totally or partially" in primer rule. It’s either that or i’m going to dress the car to look like a Smokey and the Bandit Firebird.
