Yep sorry about that, it’s the Charlie Gibson enduro. It’s during the first NASA MA weekend.

Driving the FAST Salazar cars:

  • Alex May and Victor Hall

  • Stephen Dubovsky and Han Ah-Sue

  • James Clay and Roberto

#7

Salazar car with Clay and Roberto…New names to the e30 grid. Should be fun to see how they do. Have fun at VIR. Regards, Robert Patton

#8

Yeh, who is this James Clay fellow anyway. He’s probably not fast at all.

Unfortunately I had to can my enduro registration, still out west, getting broker every day…will do the sprints.

James busted up the Spec E30 track record in my car last year at VIR by almost a second. Roberto is another World Challenge ringer.

You really should be worried about the deadly May/Hall combo. Fastest "neighbor" combination in Spec E30. Alex was offered a spot on the Penske team, but turned it down after Danica rejected his advances…something about him being too manly for her.

Sean, who is signed up for the VIR races? Can you list 'em. I may have to make a long haul to see how the MA guys race so fast…Regards, Robert Patton

And your car was how much underweight at impound???

Yes, you have the trophy but does it have "Spec E30" on it?

The car has to be Spec E30 legal to break a Spec E30 track record…but he does hold the E2 Class record at VIR, which is damn fine driving.

I’ll ask Chris if minimum weights will be checked this year. Either we all do, or we all don’t. Either way is fine with me but we need to know.

And while Carlton and I are not close neighbors - he lives on the good side of the tracks, we’re extended neighbors.

'Sounds like a good little rivalry here…inside the Beltline (Raleigh, NC) vs. inside the Beltway (Washington, DC).

This is true. I often refer to it as the "armpit"of inside the beltline.

Hey Matt,

I had considered it and would love to but since I have signed up for the test and tune on Friday (to try and knock off 3 seconds/lap before the Sat. sprint :S ) I am afraid I have used up my racing budget for one weekend.
Now if you are interested in teaming up in it in my car and you cover the entry fee I’d seriously consider it. Call me if you want to talk about it. 919-868-6999

BTW, I see you have had some nice success in other races last season, congratulations.

Since I’m still unemployed (but working on a job lead or two), the racing bank account is below the comfort level and the car has had almost none of the winter maintenance performed, I’m willing to crew for anyone who needs it.

As of right now, I can be at the track Friday through Sunday.

(I’m an expert tire changer.)
