You really should be worried about the deadly May/Hall combo. Fastest "neighbor" combination in Spec E30. Alex was offered a spot on the Penske team, but turned it down after Danica rejected his advances…something about him being too manly for her.

And your car was how much underweight at impound???

Yes, you have the trophy but does it have "Spec E30" on it?

The car has to be Spec E30 legal to break a Spec E30 track record…but he does hold the E2 Class record at VIR, which is damn fine driving.

I’ll ask Chris if minimum weights will be checked this year. Either we all do, or we all don’t. Either way is fine with me but we need to know.

And while Carlton and I are not close neighbors - he lives on the good side of the tracks, we’re extended neighbors.

'Sounds like a good little rivalry here…inside the Beltline (Raleigh, NC) vs. inside the Beltway (Washington, DC).

Damnit Carter - I was planning on running the weekend on old tires! Don’t get me all riled up and make me run up my credit card for some new rubber! My woman will kill me!

It’s on like donkey kong - Beltway bandits vs. the Beltline bashers. I hear those Beltline folks wear tighty-whiteys.:S

I’m counting the days until we’re back on track!!!

I think it is time for our own run group with that list. It looks like we are going to have in excess of 25 racers by race time. Holy Cow.

Great list of racers! Our largest group yet.

I hear that 944 Cup has more cars with 23 so we’re close…

I’ll be doing some marketing with NASA and will be near the pit-to-paddock exit from the pit lane but let’s find a good spot for all the Spec E30 cars. Carlton and Vic have been good about saving places at the track for the group but I’ll make the effort on Friday morning. With all our cars, it’ll be tough to save such a large area, but we’ll give it a shot.

All the BeerTech guys will be up on Thursday night. When will they have the gates open?

We can rope off an area, a large one apparently!!

Sean, What’s the maximum number of cars that NASA will put on the track in race at the same time? Assuming SE30 gets 25 cars and 944 has 35 that would be a pretty large field of cars.

Ken: are you running the Enduro?
Hey Matt,

I had considered it and would love to but since I have signed up for the test and tune on Friday (to try and knock off 3 seconds/lap before the Sat. sprint :S ) I am afraid I have used up my racing budget for one weekend.
Now if you are interested in teaming up in it in my car and you cover the entry fee I’d seriously consider it. Call me if you want to talk about it. 919-868-6999

BTW, I see you have had some nice success in other races last season, congratulations.
Thanks. Good talking with you this morning. Send me an email at trblmkr-at-patmedia-dot-net so we can continue planning (plotting & scheming?).

Damn, sounds like you guys are going to have some fun. Can’t wait til we get 25-car fields on the west coast. We might have at least 5-10 by the end of this year.

Any chance that Speedvision will broadcast the race in lieu of another edition of BJ Auction or Pimpin?

Rumor has it… they are going to air the 1st half of the race then cut away to a Dukes of Hazzard marathon

Hello Carter, etc

We dont want to be near the track/pits, the noise will drive you crazy…the further back/up towards covered grid the better.

up near grid would be nice

#38

Ok. Whoever gets there first should look for a large open area near the grid. We usually place police tape around an area, using chairs, etc. and we hang "Spec E30" paper signs every 30 feet or so, along the police tape.

I won’t get up there until Friday morning and will chip-in to help with the cost of the tape.

Sorry for the Noob questions  But… are you talking about securing an area only for Endurance Racers only or all SE30 racers?

I take it the the paddock map posted on the NASA MA site isn’t correct?

http://www.nasaracing.net/VIR_Feb_07/VIR_Paddock.jpg

We’ll be getting in Thursday night and will be happy to try to get some prime real estate reserved.

If you guys have an area you want up to grab… just let us know sometime beyween now and then. We’ll do what we can.

I don’t think that the map is necessarily a strict parking requirement. Last summer we roped off an area which is shown on the map you linked to be for Spec Miata. It is a good spot to reserve for a large group of cars since it is a little farther away and is usually the last area to be filled by late arrivals. As a bonus their is a bathroom very close by too.

The reserved parking that Carter is talking about would be for any SE30 cars that can fit, not just enduro racers.
