What is the negative to accepting? If everyone doesn’t agree we could back out. The most important part is that we are all pitted together IMO… The more we wait the worse our choices will likely get.
East Coast Championships thread.
I think we’d end up spending a lot of money to get not much space, and less of it contiguous. 50 SpecE30’s are going to need a lot of room. Both you and Lako/Walsh have a big rig. Palacios have an RV, DriveGear has a 3-car trailer, and I’m sure there’s more I’m forgetting. It adds up in a hurry.
Sky isn’t falling. It’s asphalt and grass. Very little dirt. Easy ingress/egress. When we’re at RA in a couple weeks we’ll give it the once-over.
Yeah i know i just feel like since we are a pretty unified group (relatively speaking) that a little more patience or consideration on their part was in order. Them’s the breaks.
Ranger, Did you stake claim?
Yes. This time I accepted the offer immediately. Learning had occurred.
for those of us who have never been to road Atlanta…if we are paddocked inside the track, where is access to outside the track (ie walking bridge vs driving bridge?
for those of us who have never been to road Atlanta…if we are paddocked inside the track, where is access to outside the track (ie walking bridge vs driving bridge?
See the map on the first page. There is a walking bridge between paddocks near the marked Classroom(tower).
Driving. It’s a little hard to explain the route, but at lower right of the pic is a yellow Racers arrow. That’s the road to take to get to everything that is on the interior of the track. The bridge that makes that work is not in the pic but is at the top of the hill after 10a.
Dirt bikes allowed at road Atlanta?
I think the only rule is that if it has a motor the driver needs a driver’s license. I’ve never seen any distinction re. motorcycles, scooters, pitbikes, etc.
thanks, just checking since at Mid-ohio natls they were not allowed (mid-ohio rule, not nasa rule)
Quick note to out of town participants, the BMW CCA “Racer Fest” is at RA the very next weekend. A National race with lots of track time as well, would be a great way to leverage your tow expenses over consecutive events.
We’re scheming to play videos in whatever central tent sort of thing we end up with. Bring movies and your favorite race videos. Don’t just download them from Vimeo, bring the original HD versions.
This outfit is offering generator rentals at RA. http://www.cpracingrentals.com/
Apparently they bring it right to you in the paddock, according to their post in NASA forums. I looked into renting a genset to support folks in the SpecE30 paddock if that idea caught fire. Based on those prices I saw, this outfit is darn cheap.
A parking map got published yesterday and we aren’t in it. Working on it.
Later edit. This has been fixed. Sort of. The new parking map has an arrow that points up the hill.

Understood, bummer. I’ll keep editing my orginal list as I get a hold of folks.
Parking. Carter has the parking map and will release more specific guidance later. Sneak preview:
We have more parking area then we can possibly use. Some asphalt surface, some gravel surface and a lot of grass. We have a lot of 15A service, but maybe no 30A service. Many of the power poles have only 2 plugs so altho there’s seven power poles, it’s not like each one of them can support 10 AC systems. This means that late arrivals that want power more than they want SpecE30-bonding (a Miata-like worldview) may end up parking near a power pole in the outer reaches.
The Bier Garten has a good view of the track so we’re going to be able to watch races in the shade, sipping cold drinks.
