Ranger, there is no such thing as a 1986 “i” series car.So if you started with an '86 e-engine shell and transplanted an i engine into it, what would you call your car?

Maybe that explains some of the entries.

Regards, Robert Patton

PS I don’t type fast. Can you do the entry list out on “General Discussion” and see if other region folks want to race?

#82

I think Ranger meant there seems to be more 87 cars opposed to 88 and 89 model cars. Right Scott?

Roger that, but Robert’s point still applies. It still seems odd tho that the sum of '88-91 cars is a fraction of '87 alone. Sure there’s some '86 cars that are called '87’s, but does that really make up the difference?

According to wikipedia, 62.5% of the total E30 production run was 1987 or earlier. Given the wiring harness changes after 1987, it is logical to assume virtually all 1987 i motor transplants went in 1987 or earlier chassis (and were designated 1987).

Based on 14 entries for CMP sprints, 64.2% of the cars are 1987 or earlier.

Discuss amongst yourselves the reasons for the 1.7% delta.

 My head hurts.

Hurry up and start the season!!!

Looks like good weather for racing, camping and bull$hitting (not necessarily in that order). :woohoo: Highs around 60, lows at 37.

Time is running short to register your excuses… :stuck_out_tongue:

Does anyone know if we will have standing starts? I guess that is decided/announced on game day, but I’m interested in predictions.

Steve D.

PS - I think the new stickers will make me faster, but I didn’t have good luck with BMW’s last time at Kershaw.

#87

We will probably have a vote at the racers meetings on the kind of starts we want. Most likely we will end up with one standing and one rolling. Lets get it on!!!

#88

Well I am finally registered for the sprints at CMP. I look forward to seeing all of you loafers again. If there weren’t so many (18) of you, I’d have a shot at the 6th place hardware! Also, can’t wait to see how Turn 1 plays out after all of the fun last Feb…all of that winter adrenaline stored for the 1st lap; should be excitin’

For people going to CMP for a first time, unless you are camping at the track, there really isn’t a place to stay at Kershaw. Well ok, there is Executive Inn at Kershaw and I have stayed there few times but I am willing to drive 30 min to stay at a place little better and also A PLACE TO EAT.

There are two choices. Camden (or Lugoff) is on the south side and Lancaster is on the north side of the track. They both are about 20 miles away and takes about 30 min to get to the track.

I prefer Lancaster because there are more restaurants there plus a Walmart and car parts places.

From Atlanta, Lancaster is about 10 miles further than Camden but you don’t have to fight the construction traffic through Augusta.

Super 8 at Lancaster is $53.99 a night this weekend. That’s where Mr. Junky will be resting after a hard word out at CMP.

P.S. - Lancaster has one of best Mexican restaurant I have been to.

That’s a great option for NE Atlanta and people coming from NC. I’d never even noticed it on the map. There are a few auto parts stores in Camden. One just east of downtown.

a/k/a the Executioner Inn. I would risk tetanus camping with Malt Liquor Tech before I would check in there.

PS - Schedules are up at nasa-southeast.com. 19 registered…

I am bummed that I am missing this. Good size field! At least I will be driving in the enduro. Hopefully the motor will be swapped by RA.

Camping out at the track with BTech and MLTech is great fun. Why drive to a hotel 30min away so you can sit alone in your room and watch TV reruns?

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone very much.

#94

Ill be bringing a small grill as usual, so for those of you camping, feel free to bring some food to grill up for lunch Sat and Sunday. Everyone is welcome!

-usage fee is one solid racing lie.

“Jones is really fast and a good driver”

Do I qualify?

I said a lie, not the obvious truth and your source of insecurity.

#97

If anything its your sweet perm and taste in music that makes me insecure, not your hyper aggressive and illegal driving style.

#98

Hey Jim:

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

#99

I love it! Dave White will be playing the role of James Clay this year so we may need to update.

#100

Well, I finished the car and now it won’t start. Took it over to BRE, hoping they can figure it out before the event. Otherwise will have to push back to RA.

Looks like a great turn out this time, keeping my fingers crossed after all the drama!!!
