Little, if any, SpecE30. Maybe some enduros. I’ll probably still make several of the NASA events for coaching and whatnot.

I’m not driving at Daytona this weekend, but I am excited about some new developments. I’ll let you know when the details get worked out.
Just got home and found my new Spec E30 exhaust waiting for me at the door. This is going to be a busy Saturday, install the cut off switch, install exhaust and right side window net. Get to BRE in time to get the log book…But damn I’m getting excited!

To the other two rookies taking the Comp School - watch out for me! I will not be last!!!
Me either. Who does that leave in last Haynie?

Your better off than me EGR:angry: . I just unloaded my car from the cage guy. Time to put everything back together:ohmy: If my cage isn’t painted at CMP I don’t want to hear it. I am going to be installing my exhaust this weekend too.

Still have to get my medical done turn your head and cough:blush:

At least paint the parts that go behind the dash…

Just a thought since we have a couple rooks racing, and lets be honest our race will be a race within a race. Maybe I could convince Craig to make us a cool fastest rookie trophy B) Craig?

Steve D.

Are you going for the points in both Lighting and HPDE? That’s interesting. Is there a discount to run both?

P.S. - It looks like Brian and Alex both have the same number. Wonder who paid $50 to reserve their number?

#67

My guess is that Alex is going to drive and Jones is going to ride shotgun and take notes.

No rookie trophies. That’s what the 6th place trophy was originally for… Greg, don’t worry the small stuff. It’s going to be the most fun you’ve ever had. Except, when waiting on the grid, being nervous as sh!t, throwing up slightly in your mouth, sweating in your helmet.

I’m signed up for CMP now and the car is ready to rock. New starter went in today, so did a traqmate. Most importantly, one bada$$ shift knob, which was the obvious missing link for me hitting the podium. Hopefully it’ll be 65 and sunny.

Let’s get this thread back on track…

Hey! Whats going on here? The rookies are really trying to take over!

Brian Jones- the Original #380

It’s simple really.

It’s the new challenger system. A rookie can challenge you for your number. If he qualifies in a higher spot, you have to give up your number for the race.

Point in HPDE? Yes. I always try to win practice.

Actually, I just wanted some more seat time. Didn’t get enough dry track at Roebling after my super-secret teacher’s instruction. So I still need to put some of his tips into practice. And I can’t make it down for test day. :frowning:

#71

Oh man. Then my odds of keeping the 380 are pretty slim. So much for paying the $50 bux.

But did you get a discount for HPDE?

#73

Why would you want someone’s number that has been running it for the last two years? Trust me, it hasn’t been a lucky number for him so far…

#74

It’s not that I wanted to. It was already on my car, so I figured I’d run it. After I registered I saw somebody else already has it, hence me ordering new ones from Rodney.

Not that I can remember. Once I register for a race I try to put out of my mind how much it cost me. It helps me to avoid truly understanding the magnitude of the hole in my wallet.

Okay did you one better.

I am in the same boat.

I thought there were 4 of us doing comp school, who chickened out?

#79

I never really noticed this before, but why is it that the 1987 model is so common? Maybe they are in less demand by E30 enthusiasts so are more often picked up as beaters by folks looking to build a track car?

#80

I’ll be fine with tech inspection. Fixing my roll cage “uh-oh’s” this Friday. Everything else is done.
