CMP enduro

#1

So who is signing up for the enduro? And who is going to use a co-driver? Any teams forming?

#2

I’m not really planning on it, but if someone wants a co-drier I’ll show up early. B)

#3

I’ll have a team at CMP. If you guys are putting teams together make sure you register ASAP. CMP is only four weeks away!

#4

I am skipping this enduro, but I will likely run the RA enduro.

What is Travis’ email? Anybody? Tom now has a real job and asked me to get ahold of Travis.

Jim (Robinson) and I are in. Just to confirm, SpecE30 runs in E2, right? Does anyone know if it’s possible to swap cars during the race (just in case)?

Correct we run in E2 with the Spec Miatas. You can’t swap cars during the race. Read the Enduro rules, you’ll need a fuel catch tray for refueling and a bucket of water from what I remember.

Enduro events are fun and all that, blah, blah, blah.I could tell you stories about a lone RX-7 that was driving around Rockingham by himself for the last hour of a 3 hour event.

They are more so fun with a large field of racers. Prehaps (in a selfish manner) I should say that is the only way you’ll find me participating in one this year.

The first race at CMP will not bring out a large field of enduro racers.

We all love Roebling Road but it is not a scheduled enduro event.

So, should we all agree to do the Barber event? I say no.

Should we agree to make July’s CMP the event to be at? I say no.

How about Road Atlanta in March? Or, how about Road Atlanta in August?

On second thought, it’s hot in August, REAL HOT.

Is there a chance for others (i.e. Mid-Atlantic Racers) to attend Road Atlanta in March?

What say you racers?

Regards,

Robert Patton

I’m in for the RA enduro in March! I may even bring B. Jones our of retirement to co-drive.

Patton - for this first one Craig and I are treating it as a glorified test and tune. And also to get more familiar with the track. Neither of us has turned more then a weekend’s worth of race laps there so hoping that 3 hours or whatever is the equivalent of a crash course in CMP.

After that we’ll see if it was fun or not.

Patton, quit harshin my enduro buzz, man. I thought you were the SE30 football captain quarterback dude, not the goth kid in the corner sitting in your black magic 8 ball car pretending to be depressed. Winter hibernation is almost over…

Robinson, quit giving away speed secrets about learning the track via the enduro track time.

Yes, I agree enduros would be more fun with a large field. Think IFU race at Roebling. That’s why we all need to do them  MLT is going down this year!

Patton’s too old to understand most of what you just typed. We’re lucky he even understands this interbdweb thing.

I may be doing the enduro but only as a test session.

Laura can explain it to him.

Beat em when they’re down, that’s what I say

Sweet. Bring it. We’ll do some drafting down the straight for testing to see if your motor’s any good. No bottle, just motor. Don’t start whining about how your motor’s only setup to run on 75 shots either.

I don’t think they’re back on talking terms yet since she whooped up on him at Roebling :woohoo:

Well, nice to see that I could open up that can of worms:P

MaltLiquorTech is officially signed up. B)

Seriously, $250 for 3 hours of track time is a pretty good deal. Even if you just use the enduro to setup the car and shake all the bugs out. Run 20 minutes, come in and change setup, run 20 minutes, come in and have a coke, run 20 minutes, etc…

Plus heat cycles kill tires more than millage. I put more wear on a set of tires over a regular weekend than I will during the enduro.

BTW you can’t change cars 1/2 way through and be legal for points. If you wanted to change cars and run for no points, I don’t see any problem with that (although you might want to tell someone first). You can substitute a legal car up until the last minute but if it is after qualifying you move to the back of the field.
