Who's selling their car?

#1

Everyone,

Deb is seriously considering joining the Spec E30 fun next year so I’m trying to see what’s out there. I’ve already spoken to Al and Robert Patton about their cars, also saw Jay Golding’s car for sale in classifieds (I believe Tom Hall’s old car).

Please post here, pm me or email me at uagxxr at yahoo dot com

Thanks
Alex

Alright Deb! Welcome to the crazies…

Hi, this is Joel@BarberRaceWorks.com, the shop currently has a car for sell. It is all done but the exterior paint, a few small things, and the decision of what type of motor to put in. Used or one of the shop’s new motors. We built Jon Manhood’s car (he drives in DE’s and the car is silver/Dolphin Grey) and have done 6 other cages in E30’s. Let me know if we can help.

Seriously thinking about it…

#5

May have a Toter and 2 car trailer to go with it

#6

Well, let me know. I already have a 2 car trailer, but still looking for a car.

#7

I am open to offers…

Steve Ferrario has a complete, ready to race car with winning history.
Walter just installed a new engine (just waiting for crank scrapper to
be installed), will be ready to run in the next week or so.

Steve lists himself as a Motivated seller.

I spoke to Walter Ford about the car, this is the Red one that Steve’s
son put on Pole as a 318is - so you know it’s Chassis is very well
worked out. This could be a fantastically fast car.

Contact Steven Ferrario

Call Pete Urbanski @ Absolute Auto in Asheboro, NC (336) 629-1618 - one of the SpecE30’s that he built for a customer is now up for sale.

This was posted elsewhere:

Hi there!

I have a BMW E30 that is currently logbooked as an SCCA ITA car and has been a very fun, reliable and economical race car to run for a number or seasons.

Easy swap to run the NASA Spec E30 series or continue in ITA or just DE. Comes with a number of spares etc.

This is the short list--------If interested, please contact me directly at Carrerajon@aol.com for pictures and details that I can Email you.

Car is in the Atlanta area. Swaping classes to run another series and this nice straight never crunched little car needs a new home. Wife has decided that 3 race cars is 1 too many.

Asking $8500.00 for the full package of car, spares. Can deliver a reasonable distance for expenses or since it was an Enduro car, it is actually street legal so you can drive it home.

Thanks! Contact John Hinds Carrerajon@aol.com or C/VM 770-312-3524

Fishman, you should know better than to suggest that a SCCA car can be swapped over to Spec E30…How’s that ABS project going?

Oops, I think I said it was okay to get the fishmobile…did I not caution you about the ABS?

From talking to Pantas, the Petmobile is probably the best deal.
Unless Alex wants a new car…

RP

Double oops, Fishman didn’t suggest, the original add said it was an easy swap-over.

I think John Hinds’ car was sold long ago. If not, it has been for sale since I built mine in 2008. That can’t be a good sign.

Ferrario’s car is in California, but if it is as clean and strong as the one he drove at Nationals in 2009 it might be worth shipping it if he is aggressive on the price.

That’s a blast from the past. I was trying to talk to him about buying his car in the Spring of '07, but he was only intermittant about answering emails.

I’ll build you one for a reasonable fee!!

#15

Thanks guys! Been on vacation and every minute costs a dollar, so waiting to get home and start calling people.

I’ll call Pete, but not sure if I’ve heard of their place. Did they build anybody else’s car?

Thanks Fishman, frankly not looking to do any swaps, etc. Just looking for something ready to roll.

Patton, what’s a petmobile? And your car is still a finalist as things stand right now.

I’ll check with West Coast Steve about his. We just shipped a car from San Diego, it was 1300 bucks, so not out of the question if everything else is right.

Pete has built a few of them - he helped extensively with the Pink Panther, Joe Tripp’s old E30, John Ingall’s E30, Lee (Jr & Sr) VanTine’s E30’s… Not to mention the CMC2 Camaro I drive, his #53 mustang, the old Spy vs Spy E36 car, … (I could go on but I’d have to dig deeper…)

It’s John Ingall’s E30 that is for sale - Pete has his contact info…

If ABS is something you want in your car (I believe we are required to have it), I do suggest you buy a car with it already working. Not that a retrofit can’t be done, but I’ve been working on my ABS install for a week now, and I still can’t make that darn light go out!!

The ABS parts have to present in the car to be legal, but the ABS system doesn’t have to work.
