What's it worth?

Hi gang, I have an 1988 BMW 325IS that I have brought back from the dead and started to convert it to a Spec e30 car. It was hit behind the left front which I put on a frame rack and got it welded up straight. It had 177K miles on it when the OD stopped I have the spec springs/shocks and after market wheels. The next steps would be to upgrade the factory M sway bars, replace bushings then add safety items like a cage. It’s got a brand new paint job, new alternator, radiator, valves recently adjusted, all new belts and hoses, new brakes and rotors and mechanically it’s sound. I probably have around $8K into it.

I already have a 944 Cup car (yeah I know, I know) but may also turn this into a racer if I don’t sell it

What do you think I could get for this car? I guess I should put an ad out for sale but wanted to get an idea what the going rate is for a running e30. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hard to know. A rust free and straight shell with working drivetrain ought to be worth >$1k. Springs, shocks, paint and parts you put on worth prob another $2k. Wheels will have some value if they are a decent choice for racing.

Where is the car?

I have the Team Dynamics wheels, brand new and it runs really well no rust, straight fenders a real contender.

I’m on the fence about truly converting it to a Spec e30 because I already have a 944 Cup car that is pretty much ready to go and I have a lot of money in that car. Possibly looking to turn it more into a SCCA E production class car or GTS1.

As a street car, it’s a lot of fun and would not take much to turn it into a racer.

The car is located in Southern MD south of DC.

Boought one yesterday for $3,200 that had more done to it, very straight 2-dr late bumper car, never been wrecked. I would estimate yours at $2500-$3000. The frame straightening really hurts the car, it would turn off many potential buyers.
