Apply it to the washcloth you also stole from the hotel. Wipe it on inside of windshield. Wipe off with hand towel you stole from the hotel.

Basically, you need a surfactant to break the surface tension of the water/fog. The fog is really just tiny droplettes and looking through the “bumps” of water distorts/blocks your vision.

A surfactant makes them “lay-down” flat on the inside surface of the windshield so you can see clearly though it.

Most soaps have a surfactant.
