Watkins Glen October 2-4 Nasa Northeast

#1

Nasa Northeast is going to Watkins Glen October 2-4, Sprint races on Saturday and Sunday. Were looking to get a group of Spec E30 cars to come up. If anyone is interested in coming up but just wants to arrive and drive let me know.

Anyone else looking to go to this event. A strong field at WGI would be a lot of fun. I should leave my car at home since yours are faster

#3

Somehow missed posting in here. I’ll be up there, didn’t make it last year, really looking forward to it.

#4

My car isn’t ready, but I’d like to spectate. Does NASA allow spectators at this event? Or does your name have to added to a guest list to be allowed through the track’s gate.?

#5

I have not been to too many events that wont let you in. Just say you are there for the race and they usualy just let you sign the liability waiver and let you in.

#6

if you want a front row seat, some regions let your work corners and get credit for other driving weekends

Thanks guys, I sent an email out asking about spectating and volunteering.

I am tentatively in for this one. So that makes Me, Curren, Mahoney, Andrew, who else…?
EDIT (2 days later)- it just came to my attention that the entry fee for this double sprint event is $430. Um, not to cheap out (or perhaps exactly that) but sheesh. I have become spoiled by the wonderful recession pricing to be found everywhere else!

I’ll be there…

That is a high entry fee. However there are very few events at WGI that you can race with NASA. If its important to you to go to the Glen than its worth it. BTW, we are not in yet until a renter comes through. Anyone up for an arrive and drive???

Would you consider a Sunday only rental? Or, if not, how much for the weekend?

Oh, I’ve definitely raced at WGI before (just ask Johnny  ) so I know how great it is but I’m still cheaping out. People who haven’t raced there before should definitely go.

I had originally planned to race my AIX Mustang there but my plans have changed and I am bringing the Pink Panther - count me in for SpecE30 @ the Glen!

I’m considering the drive up from NC as I’ve always wanted to drive the track. Can I get some recommendations for places to stay in the area. I figure this is a 10 hour tow from central NC.

I am staying at the Seneca Lodge - but any hotel/motel in Seneca is decent or so I hear. Book now as it is Leaf season and they are full of tourists…

that’s because we are jealous of the good weather they have year-round and winter is setting in!

BTW, many BNB’s up there and its off-season, so you can find some good deals this time of year.
