VIR VIDEO 03-07

#1

It’s the first lap of saturday’s race. It was pretty interesting going through the lower esses.

It was an ok start asside from me missing second gear.

I’ll post Sundays video later.

Enjoy.

Haha thanks vic, you really need to start posting yours! I need to see where i’m losing that 1/2 second a lap.

I’d like to see the standing start abolished. The crazy passing that takes place in the first few hundred feet of the first lap only bundles everything up at the first turn. If the guy in front of you qualified faster than you did, maybe he should be in front of you. Just my 2 cents.

I have to disagree. The standing start actually causes all of us to be going slower by the time we reach the first turn then if it were a rolling start. Plus, it is a ton of fun.

Great video…!

I cannot wait until my car is finished…

Now, now Vic… you don’t want to be giving away all of our speed secrets…

Great vid, what’s better then a standing start?

Jonny - Agreed. I would have to censor the parts where we hit the NOS:whistle:

I love standing starts, because the 944 boys don’t … porsche prima donnas.

I don’t know if it is better but there is a rolling start.
Now what would make it more interesting is if, at the drop of the flag, racers ran to the cars, got buckled and then drove off B)

Better yet, make it a free-for-all, so that drivers can run to ANY car on the grid … now that’s a SPEC series!!!

Yeah, god forbid they break their cute little transaxles… I wonder how many thousands that would cost to fix? :pinch:

Now that’s funny.

Rolling starts normally create more carnage in turn one than standing starts do.

#14

Mike, do you have more than just lap one?
Thanks, Robert Patton

I can but the quality will be too crappy. Let me see what I can do.

I’d love to see the whole race too, it’s a perspective I have never seen before. At least not until I see Vic running me down in the roller coaster lapping me!
