VIR July 24-25th

So, who’s going? I think a number of people are considering this one. I’m pretty sure Ranger, Tower, and Evan are planning on it. I’m 99% sure about being there. Anybody else?

The DriveGear crew will be in attendance, Frans Hansen in the #87 and maybe Jon allen in the 00. perhaps yours truly will get behind the wheel. I am bringing a couple of rebuilt transmissions if anyone would like to take a look.

I’ll be doing Comp School on the 23rd. If all goes well I’ll do my first 2 sprint races that weekend. WooHoo! :cheer:

Yes but it wasnt fitting the budget once we figured shipping. Maybe we can work something out bringing one down to this event. I will shoot him an email…

Andrew - is it $600 total or exchanged? I wouldn’t mind a spare, but don’t have a core.

I keep waiting for the participant list to post. I’m guessing there will be a pretty strong number of E30s.

And welcome Kevin - lets hope you get comp school done and we’ll see you on the grid.

Im planning to be there but Im out of tires! Does anyone have a decent set of used RA1’s (or 888’s) for practice they are looking to get rid of for a decent price?

Lowe’s chewed through all of the tires I had. Down to the cords on 7 of 8 tires! Not that they had a lot left to begin with but that place is hard on tires.

It is 600 with core, without a core it would be 700

i’m in the same boat, unless it rains. i’m gonna check wth long road racing (race shop near me, they do a lot of spec miata) to see if they have any on hand, i’ll let you know

I also need some used tires for my bottlecaps. I just bought a trailer and put myself in debt.

Jones - I have 3 R888 so maybe you can use them with the 1 you didn’t cord. Good for practice.

Thanks for the offer guys, I appreciate it. Tower, please do let me know what the guy near you has to say. If he has some good RA1’s I’m interested.

Jim Levie was kind enough to sell me some 888’s for a good price so one set of those will be enough for practice.

VIR may be my last event of the year due to the timing of our little girl due in early November. I would be able to make AMP in october but, well, yeah, about that…

Cant wait to run VIR again. It’s been three and 1/2 years since I’ve seen that track.

I’ll be there for the first and last run for ole #12 in 2010…
Sounds like theres a market for 888s. Ill throw some of last years in the truck if anyone wants to make a deal when we get there.

I’m signed up for the instructor clinic on Friday, but I’m not sure about the weekend as it seems they already have enough instructors. Hopefully I’ll get to hang around and get some track time during the DE sessions.

I’m going to be there, but I’m only in HPDE 1. Look forward to meeting everyone though. Anyone doing the kart race on Saturday?

More disussion about a MA race on the Southeast board than the MA area.

Where’s the enthusiasm MA guys?
