Update of goings-on

#1

All:

I’ve been away from the site for a while but will spend some time over the next few days, catching-up.

For now, below are a few items for the group.

  1. There will be a few minor rewordings in the Rules to address a few specific items. Nothing serious; we just want to clarify a few things.

  2. We are currently partnering with NASA National on some more corporate sponsorship, to help improve our racers’ experience.

  3. We are developing a “Regional Series Director Kit” for each active region, that will include the same equipment for each region, for tech inspections. We want everyone on the same page, tech-wise, so these kits will be shipped to the Regional Directors. As always, cost is an issue but we’ll get it done asap.

  4. We will use hp and torque maximums at the National Championship weekend this year. We paid a professional statistician (sp?) to develop numbers for hp and torque at certain rpm points. We are hoping to have a dyno at the Mid Atlantic Region’s Hyperfest race weekend this month and will test the program there. We feel like there might need to be a slight adjustment for each different dyno but we’ll know more at the end of the month. I’ll report the experience to the group.

  5. Grassroots Motorsports Magazine has thankfully printed details about Spec E30 races, in their Speednews Section, and we appreciate their support. Now that we are seeing strong growth in several regions, we want to see more information from the regions. If you have a specific experience that you think the amateur motorsports community would like to see, send an email to your Regional Series Director and he will submit it to GRM.

  6. Our Regional Series Directors’ (and my) door is always open so feel free to contact us directly with any specific question or concern.

Spec E30 National Series Director
