Track Records

these re the MA records as posted on our regions site;
http://www.nasaracing.net/track_records.htm

Something has to be wrong with the VIR full course 3’s. Or it is not min and sec. I figured 2:18 or so for VIR Full. Carter did North in 1:47 so just another 12 sec. for full? Something is off (I hope).

The VIR full course records are all wrong. Someone mislabel the track?

SMD

#4

I believe VIR full should be about 2:20.

#5

CMP is wrong too as I broke that last weekend with a 1.56.3. Who does the updates? it would be cool if we could come up with our own spread sheet to keep here on the site.

I don’t know if there are plans to share the timing data between regions.

Well it says Mid Atlantic tracks. Not really a track record if its not the fastest race lap at that particular track;)

I will Harass James to no end about this. He is uber busy trying to get his car ready for this weekend and make a living so I think it will be staying as is till sometime after the event.

It’d be cool to keep our own list for everywhere we run around the country. That way people looking at the class can see what my car did at each track.

B) HEHE, couldn’t resist.

Nice work D. Is this qualifying and race laps or just race like BMWCCA?

Simon these are just race laps, no qualifying.

Damion, when you posted the number for Rockingham I knew that number just wasn’t right as the NASA folks were hand timing that race lap of 108.484. So, that got me started on looking at NASA SE race and Qualifing numbers. here is my attempt at lap times to shoot for in the Southeast;

Rockingham:
Q 10/21/06 109.384 patton
Q 10/21/06 110.955 taylor

Raod Atlanta:
R 03/18/05 146.980 hunt
R 03/–/06 147.1 patton
Q 03/–/06 147.3 patton

Roebling:
Q 10/01/06 124.019 patton
Q 09/30/06 124.379 patton
R 09/30/06 124.611 patton

CMP:
Q 02/11/07 155.649 patton
Q 02/10/07 156.092 moses
R 02/10/07 156.369 moses

Looking forward to new records for everyone at Road Atlanta with the new pavement. Regards, Robert Patton

Here is the official NASA verbage

21.7 Lap Record
A lap record will only become official when the NASA office publishes it with as the
“Official Lap Record. A lap record will only be valid when set during a race. A lap
record set with a vehicle that has been found illegal in impound for that race, will not
stand.

What about a qualifying race? Does that count.

Thanks, Simon. Throw-out all of those "Q" notations in my NASA SE chart and watch me drop to the also-ran status. Oh well, it gives us all something to shoot for. Regards, Robert (one lap wonder) Patton
