TOYO RA-1 Legal?

So in an earlier post, it was mentioned that the RA-1 would also be legal for some time during the 2008 season. When I look at the file of rule changes, it says that the RA-1 will also be legal if the R888 is not available. That’s a big differnece.

For those of us with a number of RA-1’s can someone please clarify. I really hope that I can run the RA-1 at least during 2008 especially since it is viewed to be slightly slower than it’s replacement.

Keith, I just can’t imagine anyone protesting this. Frankly, I’m wondering if the 12/07 date is a typo meant to be 12/08.

I’ve asked Carter about this.
I believe the intent is that we have to use the R888 starting in 2009, but may use it in 2008. Also, it appears that we can still use the RA-1 if they don’t produce the R888 in certain sizes (e.g. 14")
