Time Trial class for SpecE30

#1

I’m looking to do a few TT events this season on race weekends to get more track time. I’m not concerned with being competitive in TT as I really only want the track time.
What TT class does a Spec E30 fall into?
Thanks in advance.

Ouch. Just did a more detailed search and found the answer. Good thing I’m only looking for track time.

Please share the answer so that anyone doing a search in the future will have that info.

Thanks,
Matt

My bad.
A Spec E30 is TTD when time trialing.
It is not even close to competitive for that particular class.

That isn’t really true. Mine ran in TTE for a while. If you do absolutely everything to the SE30, I do think it classes in TTD, but you can get a dyno reclass into TTE.

Good info. I had not considered the re classing based on HP aspect. My times fall in line with TTE so I may look in to that.
Thanks!

Just a hint when you go to get a dyno reclass, dont tell Greg its a SE30. Just give him the car info and leave it at that. The reason why no other race class fits well into TT/PT is done on purpose. They want you to build a car for TT/PT, which you really have to do to be competitive.
It doesnt stop one from going out and having fun tho.
And yeah, you really need to point out the car for its true class. It can fit anywhere between TTE-TTD and wont be competitive in either. (unless the local competition is pretty slow.)

Have fun!

Yep the best option is to dyno reclass into TTE. Just get a dyno sheet and tell Greg you want to be in TTE, and he will set your min weight which depending on your motor power should be similar to SE30 race weight. I got a reclass from him a couple years ago.

I did a lot of research on this last year. A SE30 built 100% to the rules actually goes in TTC! Check this thread from the NASA forum, the 4th post down has a document that shows how the points are accrued.
