Thunderhill 3/8 and 3/9

Excellent!
Looking forward to meeting the larger group (I’ve met a couple of you already at VMWerks)…I’ve been lurking along on the forums and y’all seem like a great group of folks.

Does anyone have suggestions regarding de-virginizing a first-time NASA HPDE’er? I’ve done track sessions with TrackMasters and SpeedVentures in Southern California, but never with NASA. I read a tip that I should request a racing instructor to pair up with me for my sessions since my eventually goal is SpecE30?

Thanks again,
-Ernie

Ernie, must have missed you this weekend - maybe next time. Hope you had a good and safe time.

Regarding requesting racer instructor - it couldn’t hurt. Just come out and drive, there are a lot of very qualified racing instructors to show you the line, then a lot of it is seat time. You may find an instructor you click with that will continue to give you advice since most are there every track weekend and like to help out.

Yeah, it was pretty busy for us in HPDE1 with all the download sessions and hitching rides with our instructor. And the schedules were such that I didn’t get much opportunity to watch you guys race! :frowning: I did have a chance to stop by once and chat with Scott a little. I know you guys were pretty busy with race activities so I didn’t want to bother too much…

I did have a blast!! Spooked myself over the top of 5 once (feeling cocky, going too fast over the hill, car pointing left, track going right) but managed to fight that urge to lift! lift! lift! and keep it on track.

Two things are for sure:
I need to install that limited slip diff like NOW.
Instructors are worth their weight in gold.

Make that three:
I can’t wait for the next track day.
