Aj, your such a mean guy…lol…:silly: . I can’t wait to be there with you guys, and for the record, I HATE bodywork…

Is your car all ready to go? I didn’t get a chance to take a close look at it at Infineon, but were you able to just bolt on new body panels?

I got panels from the junkyard that were pretty bad at best and am having to strip them and bondo/sand the crap out of them. Had to use a chain and a comelong to pull out the radiator support about and inch and a half. I am still hoping the radiator is okay, even though it is bent. It was a brand new one before Laguna. I still have a lot to do, but I will make the call tomorrow if I am going to give up or not, depending on how the day goes…
Good luck with the body work. Don’t give up! Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help, or if you need me to bring anything to the track. I’m always willing to lend a helping hand.

Brenden that goes for all of us. Just let us know what you need to finish and we will see what we can do. I am all for a paddock scramble on friday and saturday morning to make qual. What Krylon color did you go with(hint hint adam)?

Thanks guys. I have now reassembled it to look somewhat like a car, and its crazy weird. It may be a bit crooked. I am taking it for an alignment tomorrow and then priming tomorrow afternoon. Paint to follow the next day or two. It should be semi ready. I won’t come up if it is not done, as I don’t want anyone to miss practice or qualifying…
Does anyone know if I need to take it to get a tech, since I am doing HPDE and not racing?
Hey Brenden,
Hope you can make it this weekend. Since your car has a logbook with a current annual you don’t need to do a HPDE safety check. Just make sure your car has it’s logbook so that you can prove it has a 2008 safety inspection.
Got my $140 tranny installed at Walter’s shop last Friday…it works GREAT…I lucked out with my purchase
Cheers,
Scott
Brenden,
Because of your incident you need to bring your car to tech for inspection, That is if you want to race. HPDE can either be done at a shop that provides a state bar stamp or at the track for $40. Tech will need to look at your car and an anual inspection is necessary before your first race.

Is there a chance I will be able to race? I want to get back into it as soon as I can so I will come back…I don’t know whether or not I am licensing on Sat or Sun…That would be really cool if I can, I have a set of legal tires meeting me at the track…:woohoo:
Where does everyone usually stay? I have reserved a room at the Baymont Inn. I think thats where I stayed last time…Is it the one right next to Casa Ramos?
Brenden, really happy to hear the great progress you’ve made - I’ll bet you’ve been busy! If you need any parts brought up just let us know - I’m sure if we all compiled our spare parts we could build a whole new car.
I usually stay at the Motel 6 - if you tell them you’re with Spec 944 you get a discount. This time I’m staying with a group at the golden pheasant - never stayed there so I hope it’s not too bad.
Anyone hooking up for dinner or pop on Friday night in Willows?

The Golden Pheasant is where all of usually stay. I’m not quite sure what part of it is “Golden” but it’s decent enough, especially considering it’s in Willows.
We’ll all make it to Casa Ramos eventually for dinner and soda on Friday night.

Ask Donny or call Dave Ho, he can let you know what day and what session you have slotted.

Golden Pheasant is decent, but nothing special (rooms are similar to Super 8). Name of the other place escapes me at the moment - hotel on the other side of Casa Ramos - is more upscale. I usually stay at Golden Pheasant when I go…

Tell them you are with WHO?
What is up with that? Are you secretly building a slower car. Do you like the rear of the field, with no traffic until late in the second lap? AJ I am supprised by all this. Does Casa Romas give a discount if you say you are mexican?

Si!
I knew I’d catch a ration of shit with that, but hey 1. I’m just helpin a brotha out, and 2. We didn’t have a spec e30 discount. Maybe that is our objective for next Thill event - get our own series discount. Hell, we got more cars
Hi all,
Just wanted to say a quick “hello”.
I’m new to the NorCal SpecE30 crowd and signed up for the event this weekend. I’ve done autocross & several open track events in past cars, but this will be my 2nd in the E30, 1st with NASA HPDE. (I’ll be in HPDE 1)
Where will you all be? I know I’ve got a long way to go before I can feel comfortable on track wheel-to-wheel, but I’d like to stop by and say howdy and see how the real racers do it
Good luck all,
-Ernie
Hi Ernie, good to meet you. You won’t be able to miss us - we’re shooting for the shade tree area right across from the awning and pre-grid but if for some reason we’re not there we will all be somewhere pretty close together. Unless you have other arrangements you can plan to park with us. Cheers, AJ
Hey Ernie welcome aboard… we’ll be near the hot pit entrance with a big trailer surrounded by lot’s of good people. Definately come by and say hi. If you need ANYTHING let us know and we’ll do whatever we can to help.
here’s a teaser… Scott and I had a vinyl party!
BTW y’all better have your party hats on, Kevin spent alot of time prepping the car!!
