The Ultimate Racing Machine

Spec E30 featured in the November issue of GRM with a six page spread. I just got it today’s mail and haven’t read it yet so I can’t tell you any more than that. Looks like a good article and great publicity for the series.

Isn’t GRM the best auto mag out there? I just love those project cars.

#3

it is a cool writeup …
but $23K for a Spec E30 car?? :woohoo:
Somebody could buy my 2.5l e30 M3 racecar for that.
cheers,
bruce

I was thinking the same thing. I have often speculated what my freshly built SE30 car was worth and always thought around $12k. I’ve got over $13k in it since January (including the car). Maybe I was off a little.

I just read the article. Very well done, for the most part. It features some of the east coast guys including Carter Hunt.

Perhaps this will be the publicity boost that Spec E30 needs?

Hoping mine comes in the next few days. One of the great benefits of belonging to NASA is I no longer have to pay for it. :stuck_out_tongue:
If you have comments good or bad about the article (or the magazine in general), please email Tim or J.G. and let him know. They love feedback over there. Contact info is on their web site.

I got it 2 days ago and was able to read the article last night. I knew it was coming since I talked to Scott Lear at Nationals about it. I think it is a decent article and Carlton’s car sure does photograph well, and Brain’s car is sweet too…I too, was surprided at the 23K pricetag. I hope it is a typo or if it is not, Pallister is the best car salesman evAr!

#8

yay! I’m actually in the article!

#9

looks like i will have $8500 in my spec30

#10

That figure of $20+ is insane…

Mine was less than 8500 easy…

Great PR for the Spec E30 series. Kudos to those who were featured and contributed to the article.

#12

I received mine in the mail today. Carter, thanks for the kind words.

Lots of you saw Dave Palister’s car in the GRM article and comented on the sales price…truth be known that was for two ready to race cars, so $11500 per car. Not a bad price for Skip considering all he had to do to go racing was turn the key.

Also, since Dave is too busy with his new business to post or keep up with the boards, I’ll post for him…I’m happy to report that Dave will be returning to Spec E30 racing starting early next year. He has already aquired a donor car and has started his build. Target date for first track event is the 3 hr VIR Enduro in Feb 07.

i am in about $7,500
but with only four cars (five when i am done) in northern California it should be fun.

Good to hear Dave is so busy in his new endeavor. Good for him and it will be good to have him back at the track.

Brain, what is Dave’s phone number? I’m trying to hook him up to sell another car. Regards, Robert Patton (800)755-1715
