Thank You.

I thought I would drop a quick note here to say thank you to the “club” that has made my venture into hobby racing so much fun.

About a month ago I rented and subsequently sold my car to a local friend that will be enjoying it for a little while and then probably selling it again. The opportunity was one that I could not turn down.

Post sale of the car, I have decided not to build another S-E30, but rather to try something a little different and join the slowly evolving Spec3 ranks. I figured that as long as I had the chance, I would try something new while not straying far from the proven formula of Spec E30. Hopefully my academic schedule will be lighter during my second year of pursuing my MBA and I will be able to spend an increased amount of time learning the new car and helping to promote the series. Spec E30 (CArter, Mike, etc) has provided an incredible foundation and must be credited for all of the hard work.

To all of you that I have so enjoyed racing against, joking with, and most importantly learning from, THANK YOU. The past four years would not have been anywhere near as much fun without the wonderful group of people within this community.

Obviously I am not going far and hope to still be allowed into the paddock space of this group when I return to the pavement at the July VIR event.

Thank you all again, I truly appreciate all I have learned and look forward to seeing you soon.

Jon:

I am glad to hear that we will see you in the paddock again…and that your former Spec E30 car will be back at the track.

For sure, Spec 3 is the “next step” of newer and faster cars within the spec philosophy in NASA and we hope it does well.

Chris Cobetto told me you bought his car so let’s have lunch at your first Spec 3 event.

Sounds good, maybe if you are at the test and tune day so that it is not as hectic. see you in a month.
