Not to start an argument, but I think the reason why the HPDE-1/-2 students end the day earlier than veterans like yourselves is concerns regarding their endurance.
I’m sure you know, as anyone who’s been to a drivers’ school can attest, the last session of the day/weekend is usually the one where the mistakes are most likely to happen.
The fact is that most of the HPDE-1/-2 students just don’t have the seat time and experience to reliably ensure that they won’t make a disproportionately high number of mistakes when they’re tired.
Now, I’d like to think that I’m a little better prepared than most of my fellow -2 students, (but that may just be hubris… this weekend will be my first non-BMWCCA school and my overall 15th & 16th days on the track (and my first time on SPMC)…) but I’ll still argue that you probably have a lot more mental fortitude, when tired, than I do.
