got my sat. race video posted
qualified second:ohmy: but was 5th shortly after the flag fell:blink: .
like the sunday race, I got a great view of the goings on up front. It seems chris picked everyones pace up on sunday, since I was able to keep up more in this one.
too bad about the red flag- that could have been a good long race!

quality is better but still not great.
I just posted my video from Summit Point in June.
I was third on the grid, just behind Skip Bennett who was on the pole. I mostly stayed with Skip (you’ll see me peeking to the right to get a better view of the starter stand) at the start but Vic (5th on the grid?) drove by me before the starter stand and was almost beside Skip when they passed the start line. Jon Allen (6th?) followed Vic through the front of the field.
In the Comp Schools, we always teach that the pole car sets the starting pace, once the pace car pulls into the pit lane, but if you think Skip and I were asleep at the start, don’t hesitate to say so.
After the long red flag (you can use the controls at the bottom of the screen to speed though it) you’ll see Jon Allen (in second place) swerve to avoid Vic who was leading, when Vic braked hard just before we took the green flag on the front straight at the restart.
Regardless, it’s another example of good Spec E30 racing.

pretty much impossible to tell if anyone jumped or was sleeping at the start from the video…passing before the start/finish at the start is completely legal but if you felt that vic and/or jonny jumped the start, why didnt you fill out and turn in a “request for action” form after the race?
…from the 24 Hours of Lemons, which featured some solid Spunk E30 action racing. Travis got me tarred and feathered…true story.
Another view of the start from my vid for those who haven’t seen:

Yes, I got dominated at the start:blink:- thats what I get for waiting for the flag! Vic and J.Allen clearly jumped but lets be honest- doesn’t everyone??? I was passed several times before the line but like dave said that’s legal. IMO they gambled and guessed right- they deserved to get a good start.

That is the way it looked to me to. They timed it perfectly, made it work, so good for them.

Obviously Vic got the advantage at the start from the overwhelming grip provided by his RA-1’s.

I didn’t fill out the form because I wasn’t sure they had jumped the start, and I did/do know that passing before the line is legal.
At the next event at VIR, I did get on it a little earier than I would normally go, and didn’t gain or lose any positions. If that’s how we’ll do it, and everyone is ok with it, it’s cool.
