Spec e30 ski report

#1

I checked into Winter Park CO yesterday, saw 3 e30’s on the road around Denver…I was driving a 71 bavaria with 360k miles which is less than ideal in these conditions…saw an e12 parked at the top of Bethould Pass so I am not the only idiot in the area.

I am here till the first week of Feb, so if any Spec e30er’s want to stop by drop a line.

A huge crowd of LSU students showed up today, they were carting loads of beer, cases of booze, it looked like Malt Liquor Tech/ Beer Tech was in town. I cant wait to see these folks on the slopes tomorrow. This same crowd was at Telluride 2 years ago when I was there, a few thousand cajuns, really tore up the town. It was great…

after living at sea level it takes a few days to get used to 11,000 feet, havent started drinking yet.

You have space on your floor for a sleeping bag or two?

Yo Ranger

Yup, best time would be after the 15th. I have a spare bed, large room.

It is so cold here a bottle of Travis’s homemade wine exploded in my trunk, must not have had enough alcohol.

JP and Canterbury will be glad to hear that my beard is back!

Jim

How do you find stuff like that??

That dude didn’t have enough layers on. As cold as it is here, he must have had serious shrinkage.

Happened to be on drudge report.com during my daily lunch time ‘internet news roundup’.

I’m sure beertech would have seen it on some ‘other’ sites eventually.

True… It never takes long for you to post another pic of a dude with his pants off.

-5 degress snowing and 20mph wind, 5 minetes outside with your butt in the breeze could do serious damage.

Still focusing on grace rather than pace, black diamonds today, Greens and blues full of hungover college students. If I see one more kid on their knees texting on a slope I am giving someone the “chrome horn”

AL,

It has been a while since I have been there. Favorite run is the Drunken Frechman. The moguls were as big as VW bugs and I had to ice my knees for 2 day after that ski trip. Hope ur having a good time.

Running Black’s with powder bumps…serious magic carpet ride.

Yup, my knee’s are hurtin…

Ranger, why the tease??

geegar, just fill the bathtub with kitty kitter, open up a 20 pounder of cat chow on the floor and fly out for a week.

Man, I’d would purely love to come and ski. But for the past couple weeks I’ve been coordinating all my '09 track days with my wife’s calendar, and she ain’t happy about 6 track days/mo.

A divorce would go poorly for me. She’s a lawyer.

On the otherhand, if we could plan this sort of thing a couple months out, I ought to be able to pull that off.

Maybe next fall we should figure out who ski’s and come up with some big-ass ski trip. Someone in this class is sure to have a condo in the Rockies or Cascades.

#16

Too much complaining about how far it is and most of the skiers are back east anyway.

J/K - couldn’t resist.

Spent today in Steamboat, got 2 friends from back east that work for the bridgestone school there…conditions were pretty damn good.

Jackson Hole…I got a free ride there this year, dont think I can make the drive in the Bavaria…Geegar when are you going?

Tim Suddard from GRm was supposed to be out here this weekend, I would have loved to run him into the ground at Steamboat.

In Jackson Hole Feb 17-22. As you can see from the dates, it’s not a 2 month “Winter of Al” trip, but it will have to do. Just means more Aleve and no days off.

Mike Davidson, are you going out west snowboarding???
