Spec E30 Rules are so last year

Is there an due date for the 2012 RULES?

The Southeast has it’s first race in a few weeks (don’t think I’ll make it)… and it seem like rules might be a good thing to have (or not).

Thanks

There was a lot of contraversy over rule changes this time so it’s taking a while.

I’m sure they will be published soon. Based on my information, here are the notable changes:

  • Megasquirt ECUs are allowed; OEM ECUs will be phased out in July 2012
  • 2,550 lb minimum weight
  • open exhaust (including centrifugal impeller ‘silencer’ with output connected to intake manifold)
  • spec Schrick cams required
  • triple adjustable Motons are permitted with a 23 lb weight penalty
  • Evan Levine must carry rewards weight
  • standing starts are required for all sessions including practice

That is all.

Jason/Steve:Slack-ass inspector dude.

Scott: 2012 rules are out there but only those of us that race know where to find them.

Not one straight answer… Not that I don’t enjoy the humor (or the attempts), but I was coming here looking for answers. This still the “official” website for Spec E30?

the season starts next week for the Southeast and the rules still haven’t been posted.

WTF?!

Anybody Interested in a low mileage spec e30 (100,560 miles) 3 sets of wheels open trailer $8,500 (not sure if it’s 100% legal)…

Here is a serious answer to your question.

NO. there is no due date for the 2012 RULES. They will be released when they get released.

If the rules aren’t released then just defer to the 2011 rules until they are officially released.
