Spec E30 rentals

#1

Does anyone rent SpecE30s in NASA MA? As most folks know SM rentals has been a big part of my business and Im just interesgted to know if there is rental demand for E30s.

Im sure you can all figure out why I am asking this question.

I have to say I like the lack of "rules Creep" in Spec E30.

How much do you charge, and what do you offer with the rental? What kind of services?
I’d like to rent one someday?

agree here - one of the attractive things about spec e30 is the potential to fly into remote tracks and to be able to drive a car that feels like your own.

Very interesting concept as I’ve got a third car that is just about sorted out.

Aside from all of the legal concerns, what is a fair rental rate?

I’ve gotten some input from Mike Mills, but it would be informative to see what the prices are from other makes and models.

I think $200 per weekend should cover it right? INCLUDING consumables! Just to get this rolling Ill rent your car at that rate!

I have been renting race cars for about 4-5 years. We started with 944s (not very successful) and migrated to Miatas which were much more popular for rentals. I have had a fleet of 5 running for the last couple of years in NASA and the SCCA, and Pro racing.

We have always done a full arrive and drive package which includes, tires/gas/crew, in car video & data and driver coaching if applicable. Our rate has averaged out to approx $600-$800 per day depending on the event. All you add is the entry fee.

The business side of it is the hard part. As an LLC we have high insurance costs, capital costs in maintaining the cars, Transporter, and a whole host of cost wrapped up in Contract preparation & paperwork & accounting. I have been lucky and have had very good customers so damage cost collection has never been an issue, but you have to prepare for the worst case scenario.

Its good to know there is potential rental demand, I’ll have to do my due dilligence on car build costs.

That’s not a bad deal. Where would you rent them at? I’d like to go to Road Atlanta, Watkin Glenns or Homestead. Any other "good" track on the East Coast?
