Spec E30 in SVRA

#1

Does anybody out there have experience running with SVRA? Specifically, I want to run my spec e30 in the event next year at Indy. Their online info doesnt really seem to have a place for a 1989 325i class wise, but last year there were many cars out there far newer than mine.
thanks

I have run 2 or 3 different e30’s with SVRA for years, but be advised they are now enforcing the fuel cell rule in order to keep Miata’s out.

THe 325i runs in group 8RS

I know of BMW’s that have run recently with an ATL sticker on the fuel pump access panel and claimed there was a bladder in the tank. I do not advise taking that route.

I also do not think there is an easy way to install a fuel cell in a crumple zone car that is safer than the stock tank.

Al, thanks. Looks like them’s the rules.

Guess they do not like low-cost, stock-car riff raff.

The SVRA guys out here are very welcome to the ideal of SE30’s running with them in SE30 trim with no changes. I guess it comes down to, we need cars on track VS we got enough cars on track.

Hmm, there were over 600 cars for last year’s event. I’m guessing they aren’t gonna be hurting for entrants next year.
I’m having fuel pickup issues, so maybe now I should put a fuel cell in and solve 2 problems.
