Show me your Side-Net!

Hey guys,
Thanks to Sean for reminding me that I need to get a Side-Net in the car before the July VIR-North event. I’d love to see some pics, or hear any recommendations/heartache that you’d like to share.

Team Tech has a new mesh one out. Bimmerworld has it.

Other than that one, I like the Safety Solutions net that BSR Products carries.

I have one from APEX performance ( I think that it’s the Safety Solutions) but I can’t figure out how to get a good mount without completely ripping out the dash first. Anyone installed this yet? I figure that many of the cars will need this and so I figured that someone has cobbled up something. What’s the tech procedure going to be for these things? I have figured a way to install it using the upper (roof area) crossbar and the angles really aren’t too bad. The biggest problem is with the overall length of the net. Also, getting the 3 rear straps in locations that provide the proper tension on the net but don’t slip is a concern as well.

Pics from anyone who doesn’t have it coming out of their dash?

If you don’t have it coming from the dash, then you need a cable from the firewall. I’d rather use the dash. Don’t you have a dash bar? If not, run a steel cable from firewall thru mid vent and attach to net. I’ll find a pic from somebody’s car.
BTW, if you have a HANS seat, do you still need the net? I guess not.

I had my cage builder add a hoop when the dash was out. It is actually welded to the body and not the dash bar. The dash bar was too low.
