Well fellow spec e30 group its offical, racing in the snow sucks. ok ok so I was crewing for Al Taylor (black 4 door number 2). It was cold, snowing, windy, etc. This has to be the worst weather I have evern been in track side. However, the usual Spec e30 inthusasum couldnt be beat. Everyone was havign fun and trying for find a Toyo snow tire. At the time of this posting I dont have any offical results yet but overall the racers did quite well. A lot of the more powerfull turbo cars were left limping allong the track due to the harsh conditions. The 944T in the first pic tried to get off the grass for 15min till he figured out not to go streight back on track. Will I be back toamrow for the 3.5hr enduro heck yeah, nothing could be finer then being at the track.

I have some comentary with the pics so make sure you look at it as a slide show.

I should be taking more pics tomarow.

Damn, that will separate the men from the boys …

Now I feel like a wimp because I don’t want to work on my brakes in my garage this weekend because we are in the single digits …

cheers,
bruce

Nice Pics. Thanks for posting them.

Thanks for posting. One of my driving partners was instructing with yall this weekend (in fact he said he instructed in the blue/white SpecE30 car… anybody? anybody?) but anyways he said he forgot his driving gloves for one session and when he finished the session and tried to warm up his hands he found himself actually sitting on his hands and crying from the pain! I don’t think it’s worth risking frostbite but hey that’s what I call die-hard!

Great pics Sam. Thanks.

Geez, the things we miss in SoCal!!. It was in the low 80’s at Willow Springs Racetrack last weekend… B)

I was just wondering if the grid folks were telling you guys to turn your headlights on, or if some just did it to make themselves more visible? I noticed that some had 'em on & some didn’t.

Cars that had headlights were required to have them on. Pit out had the "lights on" sign out

Yeah, I gotta get some clear headlight film… BTW, who’s in the yellow E30 with the diving boards (Carter has the integrated bumpers on his)?

I believe its Forrest Secosky?

Yes, it’s definitely Forrest. He bought Carter’s old 325e shell and transplanted the running gear from his wrecked 325i into it. It can get confusing with 2 yellow E30’s out there- unless you notice that one has big bumpers and one does not.

Someone asked who was driving the yellow E30 so fast in the wet on Saturday and I knew it wasn’t me!
