Jim came in second? What the hell happened? Somethings not right…

Wow I love the vote of confidence. Long story short. Travis qualified on pole, Skeen 2nd, me 3rd.

Travis went off coming down off the banking. Bam I was in 2nd. My ABS is non-existant so hanging with Skeen wasn’t an option. Patton and Hall were racing each other and I had a comfortable gap.

Travis came roaring back with like 4 to go and it took all I had to keep him behind me. I pulled it off and got 2nd.

Way to go. Sounds like a wild time.

What happened to JP?
Did Teddy or the Hall Brothers Show Up?

#7

No, we passed on this one. We were there last week with SCCA and we both got pretty sick. Its been a tough week, but it sounds like alot of fun now!

Next time we’ll be there.

Did M3Bill make it? I didnt see his name on Al’s list of finisher.

Scott,

Start saving for a hotel for RA. After last night’s action, SpecE30 folks won’t be allowed to stay at the track.

For serious.

You didn’t hear? Travis’s car makes 200 hp @ the wheels.

For serious.

That’s the same Vic… only he swore to never run with Mid-Atlantic

#12

My engine went bye-bye during qualifying on Saturday. :frowning:

#13

The way I remember it he swore never to run in “carter’s series” . I thought he had gotten rid of his car. Did he drive a rental?

The pink car in the top 5? What is this world coming to? :stuck_out_tongue:

It was a lot of fun racing, the Roll The Rock race w/inverted start was a blast, all types of cars, 5 wide thru most of the track and no incidents! It was some of the best racing I have done in years!

FWIW: Skeen was right, the privilege of camping at the track was almost lost this past weekend, we have appointed SpecE30 paddock police to make sure everybody goes to bed early and the late nite antics are kept to a minimum…

I never really got the whole story on what happened Saturday night. Who is going to spill the beans or post the video so we can see what got the officials so upset? It couldn’t have been anything worth such a fuss.

John

Yeah, tell us what Al and Travis did?

#18

The antics went a little too far and a little to late into the nite, the track management was not happy when they arrived Sunday morning and saw this:

The track management was alarmed that someone was driving on the track after hours with no safety in place and the thought of someone getting hurt is a tremendous liability. They were demanding that we leave the track at 7am sunday morning, but we were able to convince them that it was simply a prank and we would deal with the perpetrators immediately.

For the record: Camping at the track privileges are on probation, drivers will be allowed to camp and enjoy themselves but all activities will cease at 11pm and anyone who violates any supplemental regulations will be banned from all NASA events for a year at a minimum.

#19

I was also alarmed that someone would paint their car pink!!!

Jim, sorry for adding to the sh1t-storm. But thanks for putting on a tremendous event and keeping a smile on everyone’s face, even when we deserved a good talking-to.

This was one of the best times I’ve ever had at the track. I am SERIOUSLY considering becoming a traveling racer. By the way, my sweet 6th place trophy is sitting proudly on my desk in my cube. More race reports to follow, but I gotta crank out some TPS reports first for the man.

NASA SE FTW!!!

Personally I think that the addition of Salad Bar racing is what pushed things over the edge.

Prior to Vic’s arrival the pranks had been mostly harmless (unless you were a farm animal).

I’d suggest awarding Vic’s sixth place brake pads to the 6th place finisher on Sunday to teach him a lesson.
