Even though my e30 has disappeared can I park my e36 with it’s ancestors (the cars, not the people)?
You had better!

Chuck, Are the rules for the enduro printed somewhere?

Excellent question. Yes they are. Go to the main www.nasa-southeast.com website, and there’s a link on the right to rules. This goes to a page of various rules, including the CCR and the enduro supplement.

Pay particular attention to pit lane speed, tire changes, fueling requirements, and safety gear required in the pits.

A good-sized drip pan (the alumunum 2x3 with raised lip is popular, as is the water heater/home washing machine containment tray) and a bag of kitty litter is probably the best way to make sure you contain any fuel spills.

you’ll also need a 10 Lb.s fire extinguisher

BTW: Team GRG (BeerTech car #467) is officially registered for the enduro

Does anyone know if there will be practice and/or qualifying for the enduro? Ordinarily I wouldn’t care that much about P&Q before an 8 hour race, but I am co-driving a car I’ve never been in. And it is front wheel drive. I’ve never driven a FWD race car. That’s an oxymoron.

But the price was right, so here I go!

No practice nor qual normally. Starting position is based on enduro points standing.

Thanks, Ranger. Based on points AND classes (e.g. E1 with no points ahead of E2 with 200 points) or just points?

I think that it’s strictly points. But everyone cares about this so little that we just pick up the line-up sheet and mumble “ya, whatever”.

#49

Yes…for an 8 hour, I would think you would want to start in the back, and then pass everyone on the back straight…I think we lost a 3 hour by a margin of little more than our screwed up starting position…

Al, has anyone hit on you lately? You will lose again regardless of your starting position.

gasman, how about a side bet, if MLT wins I get a date with your daughter, if MLT loses I get a date with you!

I’m in for Sat. and Sunday. I just got the car to start today, so it will be ready for action. The enduro is too much exercise for my car at this time…maybe next year. But if anyone needs a driver for their group on Friday, I’d be available.

Cool. I’m glad only one side is getting used this time. It looks like I’ll be able to park with the group.

#55

Finally remembered to register. I count 17 cars including me. Who else has forgotten to register?
I had an all-star team lined up for the enduro but now its a no go. The turn out for the enduro looks very weak. For me to want abuse the car for 8 hrs the enduro there would need at least 25-30 total cars on track. Right now it is shaping up to be an 8 hour lapping day. No thanks.

In for the sprints
Damion, had a change of heart yet? There’s 28 cars total and probably a few more on the way, including 7 SpecE30 cars and 13 total in class E2. Get your posse together and come out to run.

Don’t know if it was posted elsewhere, but NASA is planning to have a live timing/scoring display on a 22" monitor for the enduro. Not sure where exactly, but assume convenient to the crews.

Its frustrating in enduros when you dont know if you’re racing the guy ahead of you for the lead or if he’s 20 laps down. If you have radios you could let your guy know who he’s racing with.

#59

No enduro still but will be there for the sprints

I signed up for the Sprints yesterday.

FWIW: I found the NASA site so frustrating when trying to check out that I smashed my mouse. Good thing I don’t bring my anger issues onto the track
