Road Atlanta: Smack/Roll Call

#21

We should chalk his sidewalls so we can tell if the tires are slipping on the beads.

(True story, I instructed in an RX-7 with a Vette LS7 motor and the tires were walking around on the rims, several inches per session. This just using 4th/5th gears of a 6-speed. Scary. Scary driver too.)

Another true story: I got home tonight with the kids (3) and the dog had trapped herself in a 2nd floor bathroom. And broke the water hose to the toilet. Water not tripping, dribbling or even pouring out. It was roaring out. Water covered the bathroom floor and masterbedroom. Water was pouring thru 3 ceilings downstairs.

Insurance company contacted a “water abatement” company who are en route to rip out our floors ceilings and walls.

Dang dog.

lol

I’ll be there in HPDE 3:(

JP, seems like you’re off the hook as having the token SE cheater motor. Sadly, mine’s not a cheater motor like yours, but I still have to take the heat.

Ranger, I am at a loss for words. You’ve got crap luck, like Kelley Childress… is he making his comeback tour debut at Road Atlanta?

No Damion? That sucks man. Good luck at Mid O (if that’s your excuse).

Beertech bringing event shirts? If so, chalk me up for a Large. I’d go with a medium, but people duck around me avoiding the guns…

Dog that is looking for a new home.
Sorry to learn of your misfortune.

I stared into the abyss and let Kelly drive my car last month for 30 minutes, and incredibly enough, it’s still running.

Based in part on that promising stunt, he’s apparently negotiated a smooth deal on a donor car, and we’re doing a driveline swap (out with the bad, in with the good) in a few weeks. He’s not even going to separate the tranny and look at the clutch. Just going to pop the whole thing in and go from there.

#29

Still running doesn’t say much, does the clutch still work?

I actually did not break Chuck’s clutch last month (suprised me also). Anyway I’ve got the new driveline lined up and will probably spend the fall sorting it out and making sure I’ve solved the problem and will go from there.

I’ll be there to mock everyone that has to suit up in blistering July Atlanta weather, but won’t have a car…

July weather in August, huh? I can’t wait to experience that!

:silly:

#32

That’s what cool shirts (and squirts) are for!

Next weekend looks MILD compared to what Barber was!

#33

I’ll be there for the Sat and Sun sprints. Gonna get some schoolin’ on Fri in the HPDE-3 group. Then I’m gonna go and whoop Scott Mc’s arse.:stuck_out_tongue:

July, August, whatever it’s all the same miserable heat and humidity

Looks like we’re in for a full track… 16 Spec E30’s and 40 others competing for asphalt (and concrete patches). Should make for an interesting race.

Don’t forget to pack your excuse

Shock and Awwwwww…shxt. The old #5 is ready to rock!! Just signed up last night for the sprints at RA.
It’s been an adventure in mechanical training, head bolts, junkyard visits, and getting to know the UPS man. I can now quote the Bentley engine section verbatim from memory. (FWIW)
While I was under the car, scraping off the undercoating with my knees and elbows, replacing a center bearing and Gooo-eeee-BO, a top secret cold fusion hyper-master thang was discreetly added. We’ll see how it works on Saturday.

BTW, it was a wonderful 95 degrees with no breeze in the ATL today. Ready to get broiled?

Looking forward to seeing you folks again.

I’m always armed with excuses…

Standing starts? Saturday or Sunday? Any chance of finding out before this weekend? I figured I would let my fans, crew and sponsors know ahead of time what to expect if possible.

What to expect? (this is too easy)… tell them to be prepared to see the guy who finished 3 spots ahead of you receive a trophy that you made.

Wow! the smack talk for this event is a bit limited but very good. Scott Mc is the sole BeerTech member representing this weekend and it looks like he is ready to put the smack down on some people. Sorry Im missing this one, Im sure it will be a blast.

Fast comes and goes but ugly is forever.
