Great Racing as always wiht Lako, McKay, Julio, Ryan, Patton and Harness. missing Walsh!! I hope you can make it to VIR! On Saturday, my gator teeth became loose and I had active adjustable toe in the rear right, so I spun all over the place out of 5, everybody avoided hitting me! good driving, thanks! Here’s video of the last re-start from Sunday’s Race:

Do we need to start another thread about engines? Seems to be the elephant in the room.

Here’s my video from Saturday. I pitt myself in lap 2 or 3, but the last lap after the restart is priceless. My initial start will go down as the worst I’ve ever had.

Great video McKay! I was surprise to see the move in front of you at 15:35, good racing etiquette!

I had a great weekend all in all. The car ran good with no issues other than a broken windshield. The Brand new windshield lasted 1 & 1/2 laps (thanks Sandro). Great weather.

I started and finished 4th on Saturday which was my best finish to date with a very tight pack and some Great racing with Clark.

Sunday I started at the back of the front pack in 7th which was less than a .1 sec out of 4th and .5 sec from 2nd. Spend most of the race chasing the front pack without making much ground and only giving the Group 3 cars minor pressure.

We’re going to run out of body contact forms with racing like that…

In watching people’s videos and starting to review my own, my driving this past weekend was entirely less than courteous in some parts. In other parts too aggressive. I’d like to think this is not how I normally drive, nor do I care to drive. For that, for anyone that I raced too hard, I’d like to apologize to here publicly. Andrews and I talked post race Saturday and Harkins and I spoke yesterday. All good conversations and all reasons I love racing with this group. It was a lesson learned for me and I am going to make a very concerted effort to race a little better going forward. I’d like to thank my friends for pointing it out to me and making me aware of it.

As has been said on here many times, Spec E30 is a great community and the SE group is fantastic. Great drivers, great events and always make anyone visiting welcome. Thanks!

Here’s my point of view on Saturday’s Race.
I forgot to start the go pro before the race, so the video starts 15 mins in… Check out the last lap for some exciting Dukes of Hazard offroad action in T5.

Ok weekend, missed Eric and real sorry to see Robert’s incident. I spoke with him and he’s doing well. Glad he’s ok – we’re ready to help with the rebuild. I’m sure with Danny in charge they’ll do a great job.

Great meeting the group from Fla, thanks again for coming up. We look forward to visiting you guys down South. Also great to meet up with my fellow countrymen at Mad Motorsports. Fantastic operation!

Congrats to Danny, Hector and all others that passed comp school. Welcome to the zoo!

Races: quickly realized that Ryan had us covered this weekend so was hoping for good traffic management and really good luck. Worked on Sat and almost pulled it off on Sun. Ryan, congrats on the win. Thanks to Michael, Danny and others for helping me on Sat evening.

Sandro (that’s right Sandro) and I helped Ryan diagnose a high speed miss on his car on Sunday. For all the new guys, make sure you check your ECU and do not run the 525 as it has a speed limiter. We all need to step up our game for the next event as I’m sure Ryan will return with the better ECU.

You’ve seen the Sunday videos, I will post my Sat video this weekend. See everyone at VIR!

RAAW Motorsports had a fantastic weekend! Aaron is getting stronger and stronger running his DE4 sessions. Runs consistent 1:48’s with minimal traffic and is getting very comfortable with that minimal traffic. He has an entire new world coming to him after comp school in December. He is really looking forward to racing with all of us and I am looking forward to running with him competitively. I have really envied Julio and Eric over the last couple years as it is pretty cool to watch the father and son team. Melissa did her first solo this weekend and did a great job. She will be moving to DE2 during her next event.

As for me, what can I say. Could not have scripted it any better. I am feeling much more comfortable each time I get on track. The car ran VERY strong with the help of a newly built motor that I put in after the last road Atlanta event. The competition was super tough all weekend. Congrats to Julio for the Saturday victory and the close racing on Sunday. I had a blast running with him. I really need to figure out how to get to turn three first at the start of these races!

Sunday was an incredible race. Julio had me from the beginning but I was able to pass him into one a few laps into the race. He nearly got me back at 6 but fortunate for me, the caution came out and he had to back off. The restart went pretty good with the exception of Lako blowing by me in the start. I was caught between flags and when I finally saw the green flag, Lako had already blasted by me like I was sitting still. Sorry for the people directly behind me. Coming into 6 on the same lap, I was pushed off by a TR that stumbled a little. Nearly the end of my day and the end of my car. I was lucky enough to keep it on the track, but lost several positions. I was able to catch back up to the leaders after the second caution flag. Really happy that Robert is OK as he took a VERY hard hit in 10a. After the restart, Julio, Sandro and Lako battled REALLY hard which allowed me to catch them. Thrilled I was able to win a race but with the situation in 10a, made it difficult to celebrate.
Thanks to Julio, Sandro, and a few others for figuring out my “FUEL” issue coming down the hill in 5th gear. I had no clue it was a limiter. I have found a 173 ECU and it is on the way.

Sorry to Greg Smith for not completely solving your water in oil situation. We all worked very hard until late on Friday night to change a head only to see you struggle with it on Saturday. Wish the results would have been better.
I posted Sunday’s video but have no video from Saturday’s race. I forgot to turn the GoPro off from qualifying so it was dead come race time.

For a brief moment, I thought I might head up to Watkins Glen, but after looking at 13+ hours of driving I decided to not go. Maybe next year.

For those of you that are doing VIR, I will see you then!

Oh, forgot one person. Thank you to Eric for not showing up this weekend!

With the return of Eric and some other key items, order will return to the universe.

Looks like all my prep this week for WGI wasn’t required. Eric is still immersed in his project and it’s highly likely we’re going to have to miss WGI. Hopefully next time. Big bummer. :frowning:

No need we’re a pretty observant group…
