Okay, Chris, welcome to Spec E30.
You’re the new guy, tell us a little about yourself so that we’ll already know you when the balance of the e30 racers show up on Saturday morning.

Lets see… I’m 28, live in Smyrna, work full time, and attend school full time. Right now I’m studying Mechanical Engineering at Southern Poly, but I just applied to GaTech for Aerospace Engineering. Just waiting to hear back now!
I’ve been doing DEs with NASA-se since 2008. A couple of my good friends, Will Stukas and Cory Rowan, got me interested in racing. Some of you probably know one or both of those guys. Together we’ve built three e30s from street cars to track cars over the years. The first car was sold a few years back and wound up getting completely smashed at Mid-Ohio during Nationals. Im sure everyone has seen the video of the first lap madness. It was the car that got t-boned in T2. The second car didnt make it. Mine car is the third one we’ve built. It was bought from Bobby Thrasher at Strictly German back in 2009. It was a street car that had been totaled out. I bought it with a salvage title and went through many headaches getting a rebuilt title so I could register and insure it. The car has gone through quite the transformation since then and is finally race ready… Or so I think, haha! As far as my track experience, I’ve driven Road Atlanta, Roebling, CMP, and Barber. I hope to make it to VIR next month.
MAD Motorsports should have a rental available for the sprint races. I’m sharing one with McKay for the enduro.
Chris, I know Will, Corey, and John Ackerman. Look forward to meeting you at RA.
Tell Will he should come out and do an enduro with you someday.

Welcome to the SpecE30 forum Scott! Are you running the sprint races too to just the enduro?
If anyone has, or can get, 6 Autolite AR53 plugs and bring them, I’m happy to pay for them and pay a tax in the form of tasty beer. Its time for a plug change, I waited til the last minute and nobody locally has them. Flying to Atlanta in a few hours. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks! I really wanted to get some seat time in the NASCAR around this track so I’m going to be turning money into noise on Sat/Sun in TTU instead of doing the sprint races. Will be back in an SE30 for Sebring though.
Guys, it was great meeting you all. You really made us South Florida guys feel welcome. I loved the track and can’t wait to race with you all again.
Yes, it was a great event and as always, everyone really made us welcome!![/quote]
If there was an award for seeing how many times you can make contact in a race, you win. I count 3 incidences alone on the FIRST LAP on Sunday, all of which were completely avoidable on your part. Then there was the car you pinched off in 10B which almost wrecked me and him. I admit fault in the incident where I spun in 10A trying to pass you on the inside and we ended up hitting each other (for the third time) when I spun back across the track. I may be a rookie and all but if I can count 4 questionable incidents on your part in my video alone, you’re doing it wrong.
First, I’m not going to engage in a response on the forum, but will be happy to speak with offline (email/phone/etc). But I will say that typically if there is a problem on track, drivers usually are man enough to go talk to each other after the race. I really hoped you would have at least apologized, or talked to me, for the incident in 10a/b.
I know its racing and there’s going to be some beating and banging. But most of what I saw from you was completely avoidable. I didn’t see you manning up and coming to apologize to me for bumping me down into 1 or turning into me in the esses… I’ll let my video do the rest of the talking. I was just hoping for some cleaner racing.
Regardless if it was our contact or anyone else, contact should be avoided. We’re racing for chunks of wood and plastic here. There were a lot of tore up cars this weekend…some good cars. I’m home with a pretty tore up right fender and other damage.
Regarding our contact, how about you and I talk directly. I’ll be happy to talk to you about what I saw and would like to hear what you think happened. Of course, we can share video and that will always help as well…
I couldn’t agree more. I feel this is an ongoing issue with SpecE30 in general. Seems like every weekend someone is totaling a car. I feel lucky to have a mechanically sound car after this weekend.
I’d be happy to share video and speak directly. I’m not out to make enemies, that is going in the wrong direction.
