There is one thing I never understood about “accidental” firearm discharges…At what point, in either cleaning your handgun or showing it to buddies, do you point it at yourself and pull the trigger?
Rising star shoots self in head
baffles me how this might have happened. i’m assuming he was smart given he was a pro driver…
Quite a shame. I’m no rocket surgeon now, but when I think back to my late teens/early 20’s, I am amazed I survived that period. There were plenty of situations where I was that close to a really bad outcome.
I don’t think “smart” and “risk-taker” are mutually exclusive. At any age. Kind of makes me want to go home and hug the kids.

What is a rocket surgeon?
As for being smart and that of a risk taker being mutually exclusive. Maybe we should cut Brian some slack.
I think a more appropriate question is “Where was Mike Skeen when this kid shot himself”? Up and coming pro racers in a bad economy…

A winning lottery ticket, a sunny day and the keys to Jay Leno’s garage would still bring out Jim’s dark side. Remember… he is your online (and in person) source for bad attitude
LOL, I actually have a friend who is a neurosurgeon, an astronaut with the European Space Agency, and Irish. He is hoot to go out drinking with - endless jokes and stories.
