Raleigh NC area Toyo dealer with RA1's in stock!

#1

Just wanted to pass this info on for those in the Raleigh, NC area. Performance Chassis (aka Hubcap Heaven) in Cary, off of Harrison Ave near downtown, is now stocking RA1’s. Here’s the link to the size/pricing page:

http://www.performance-chassis.com/toyo_tires.htm

Not sure how these prices compare to the cheapest online retailers, but the prices looked fair to me AND you don’t have to pay shipping AND Mark at Performance Chassis can mount and balance them for you AND do an alignment to your specs.

Mark (owner) is an E30 owner and a track junkie, and an overall good guy (don’t tell him I told you that…).

edit: I should have looked at the link before I posted. They’re prices look very competitive. I’ll be sure to give them a call. Maybe we can get them to offer a Spec e30 discount if we can get all of the local racers to buy from them.

Mark is a real good guy. I’ve always been really please w/ their service.

@ $149/shipped, he is $3 less/tire than the quote that I received from Appalachian.

Edit **

Just looked again because I was wondering about shaving. Shaved are listed as "Special Order".

Just got shaved tires from Mark at Performance Chassis. I am very pleased with his $ing and service. He also does corner weighting, has a kick-ass alignment machine, and now carries Team Dynamics wheels.

Im glad you had a good experience. I stopped by his shop two weeks ago to get a package price on 2 sets of tires and 1 set of wheels. Left Mark my name and number, 4 days go by no word. I called him on the 5th day and he acts like no big deal, I’ll call you when I get a chance. Now its been another week and still no word.

I guess he really doesn’t need the business.

I’ve tried calling several times and haven’t had anyone answer yet. Strange…

try the hupcap heaven #(919) 319-3484. He is having phone issues. Dunno what is going on with your deal Screwynewy…I just dropped my wheels off and said I would be back the first of the following week. I picked 'em up and he hooked me up on some alignment issues with my commuter car.

Guys,

I’m not gonna make excuses for poor business practices, but I don’t think that’s the case here.

Mark is pretty much a one man show, his wife does help in the office, but he’s pretty much the only one there most of the time. If you prefer to do business with a mail-order place, that’s up to you. But I think this could be a really good LOCAL source for Spec E30 tires, PLUS he won’t look at you like you have snakes coming out of your head if you ask him to align your car to something other than "what the book says"…

And while I can’t speak for Mark on "package pricing", I am pretty sure his RA1 pricing is already pretty close to as low as he can go- and I think it’s as low or lower than most mail-order places.
