Racer Friendly Life Insurance

#1

All:

I have recently applied for Term Life Insurance with The Gorsline Company, a broker of insurance products for racing drivers. They have been very helpful and have offered a better rate than what I was paying.

Some insurance companies either won’t cover us or charge extremely high rates but these guys know amateur racing and have been very helpful.

I have no affiliation with them and receive nothing if anyone signs-up. I’m just happy with their service and want to pass the info on to the group, in case anyone is having trouble finding term life insurance while holding a comp license.

That is GREAT news.

I wonder if my current life insurance company would cancel me if they found out I was racing? I have a term policy and plan on getting my comp license in July. I guess if I need to make a claim on it I won’t be around to know.

Navy Fighter Pilot, Race Car Driver, and avid Jet, Skier…No company in their right mind would touch me with a ten foot pole…Good thing I work for the government:)

Generic insurance advice, since I am only licensed in Virginia.

If you answered all the application questions honestly and the company issued a policy they will pay it.

If you lied, and it is during the contestable period (usually 2 years) they will refund all your premiums and pay no claim based on material misrepresentation. (ie. if they would have known they wouldn’t have written a policy)

If you lied and the contestible period was over…they will pay the claim.

Policies taken out prior to the start of a racing career are good to go.

Got any questions on Virginia policies email me off list.

That being said I felt safer in the car on the track than I did on I 95 towing the damn thing!!!
