Saturday noon chow. I’ll bring a mess of dogs and wurst to grill up. Who can bring some sides? Or if you bring grillables, there’s always more space on the grill.

Parking. You will hear this from me over and over, but anyone showing up for Friday’s track time, pls deputize yourself SpecE30 parking marshall and starting Thur night aggressively shoo people’s rigs out of our area in the paddock. Otherwise the Friday participants will take most of our area and we’ll be scattered all over hell. When this happens you don’t get to hang out with your buddies, which is what the weekend is supposed to be all about. Besides, we’ve good access to power and water in our designated parking area and that’s precious.

Dad and I are registered for all three days. We also just got a big rig motorhome and stacker so we will stand on top of it with BB guns and pick off turdsters and other riff raff. That also means we are “camping” from now on so feel free to come by and enjoy the AC. Any leads on 50 amp plug ins? Did everybody just start laughing?

I’m hoping to make this event. I’m finally getting around to fixing my broken shifter from Barber. The shift arm snapped in half. Ordered the AKG shifter and DSSR. Hope to have the car all fixed up this weekend!

Mark Issa and I just signed up for PTD, Hector Rainey, Ryan W and McKay will sign up this week, any others? c’mon let run the hell out of some scrubs and have some fun. Stoops is out for this weekend. John Clark will make it if his car is ready. And if the Tic Tac is ready, we’ll be renting it for comp school and the whole weekend. It received heavy damage at Daytona :stuck_out_tongue:

Re. Schedule. It’s not out yet but here is the place to look. http://nasa-se.com/2014Jun13.php
Each day there will be Lightning Qual and race, and Thunder Qual and Race. Low hp cars, which includes us, are in the Lightning Race.

Re. Where to stay. The cool people stay at the track, because that’s where all the fun is. Only Lamers head to hotels in the evening.

#12

We stayed at the country inn and suites. Best one around there other than the fancy resort. Got a motorhome now.

I’m signing up today as well. I’m trying to get Mike Skeen to come down on Friday to work with me a session or two. Anyone else interested in splitting the cost?

It looks like we have a 3 race group weekend, Lightning, Thunder and Blitz. Lightning will be low hp, Thunder high hp, and Blitz will be the German marques to include SpecE30.

Can’t wait for the event and had some last minute questions as I finish my final prep work.

Do they allow you to drop off the trailer the day before(Thursday night).? If so does anyone know the hours off hand? If not how early do the gates usually open? I won’t be able to stay at track as I just don’t have the trailer ready for that yet.

Is power good or should I count on needing a generator? Do any of the tracks we run at not have easily available power?

Just bought a beater F250 for a tow vehicle today so very happy all that is coming together.

#18

You should be able to sign in and get thru the gate Thur evening. The gate should be open 24hrs, but sometimes there’s confusion and so you’re smooth-talking skills need to stay polished.

As long as your power needs are modest there’s usually a way to get power. If you can’t hook up to a power pole, just run an extension cable to your neighbor. A key part of that is helping to keep non-SpecE30s out of our parking area. I have never been w/o power in the SE. Those that show up late tho make it hard on themselves.

#19

Scott, I’ll be there Thursday and i’ll do my best to keep any non spec e30 cars out of our parking area. I think i’ll be pretty busy with comp school on Friday, but i’ll do what i can. I know with 22 spec e30’s entered it might be a chore.

#20

Paul I might be willing to do a session. Bring your splitter and extension cord we’ll get the good 50amp power.

I’ll be there Thurs evening ready to drink. Looking forward to seeing the gang.
