Overall it was a great weekend. I still had my sticking brake issue so I skipped Qualifying on Saturday to fix. We replaced the rear brake bias thingy that is below the master cylinder. That definitely helped and I was having a good race Saturday. Eventually I pulled off (from 5th) as I had a major vibration which just turned out to be tires and I wanted to check the brakes. Everything was good. I qualified 4th on Sunday and the car was super loose. I switched to new rubber on the rears and the car was way better in the race. Anthony and I had a great battle although it was very obvious he was struggling with his tire grip (2 of his tires were my rear takeoffs thats how desperate he was for tires). Eventually I got by but only because a GTS2 car with no other competition around dive bombed him in 10. Overall though I had a fanstatic weekend, weather was amazing, racing at putnam with 10+ cars was brillant, hanging out with such a tight knit group also increases the enjoyment. Thanks again to the Osborne’s for the amazing food and hospitality.

Great weekend! I really enjoyed racing again with the Great Lakes gang! Thanks to the Osborne clan for hospitality and great food. Props to Kyle for saving all the paddock space. Like always, things were very interesting and I had a blast.

Here are two videos from Sunday. Jeremy Lucas installed a small camera on my rear bumper which proved to work really well.

Reiterating everyones sentiments, I had a great time and am thankful for everyones hospitality and friendly atmosphere and fun on track experience! I experience some sort of failure Sunday to DNF but was looking forward to a strong finish, regardless, had a great time, thanks to everyone!

Although I did not have the best luck it was awesome racing with everyone. We need to get these 10+ car turn outs more often.

Congrats to Rich who dominated all weekend. Too bad I didn’t find some real speed until I broke everything in the last race haha. Next time

Agreed, it was overall a great weekend in spite of the newly trashed motor. Many thanks to the Osbornes for their unceasing hospitality (is it a Southern thing?) and to all of you who offered support, advice, parts, tools and wrenching (you know who you are Tom). It’s really gratifying to drive with you guys and know that even with my grossly understaffed pit crew (pit crew = 0) I’ll be okay. With luck the motor just needs new rod bearings and I’ll be done this weekend and back on track at Grattan.

Rob, Let me know if you need anything to help you get to Grattan. 6 so far.

Tom, you got the finish. I am sure you finished at least half the laps of the leader.

Had a great weekend and loved the big field. Weather was great, dinner was great, racing was great. Can’t wait till the next event.

Sadly, I don’t have Saturday video. Of course not, cause it would’ve been good!

Witness Ass-Hat #1 at the 6:00 mark. He decides to head to the pits by staying directly on-line, causing me to almost hit him and then have to dodge him, and then screwed up my run through T10.
I had a great battle with Simon Hunter for most of the race, but a GTS Ass-Hat #2 decided to dive-bomb me into T10 (see 26:00 mark), forcing me to give up the position I had been defending for the previous several laps. Argh. Props to Simon on some fantastic clean racing, while I was doing everything I could to keep him behind me!

We did a rolling start behind the Spec 944s which turned out to be a bad idea. Cameron Bullard collected the back of 944 after another 944 missed a gear and caused a traffic jam at the start. It opened up some space for me to get around a few other 944s through turns 1 and 2. Keep your eye on the blue 944 to my front left at the start. We were able to straighten up Cameron’s car for Sunday’s qual and race.

Cool Videos. Putnam Park looks like a fun and safe track to race at. No walls or tire barriers to speak of unlike our Infineon.

Good show guys!

Cheers,
Scott

Help a rookie out here Cameron. How is it you were allowed to punt the 944 completely out of the way at the start without some kind of infraction levied against you?
