Pocono July 21-22

Anyone else planning on going to this event? Both days are using long course configurations, not exactly sure of the layouts though. I think Saturday’s layout has us on the tri-oval through nascar turns 1 and 2, so it’s going to be a fast day. Should be a fun weekend if we get a few guys out there, if not my NE championship lead is going to grow by default
There’s also an EMRA enduro on Saturday evening.

cmcintyre, did you make the June comp school?

I’ll be there, car just barely back from the shop and unpainted. Didn’t make comp in June (obviously), so I’ll be doing DE. I’m in for August, though.

First track days with NASA and in a BMW. Everything else in the last 4 years has been PCA in my old 911.

I’ll come find you and cheer on your lead…

Chris

Thats too bad you didn’t make comp school, but August isn’t too far away. Even if you’re not racing it will still be good having another SE30 there.

Anyone else?

Do you know if its ok to come and observe? I just started my E30 build out this last month and I’m eager to see a few prepared cars. If its cool to show up, I’ll come by on Saturday. The E30 will sadly still be in the garage awaiting the return of its drive shaft , shift linkage, fuel tank, exhaust…

Cheers,
Adam

Yeah, it’s fine to come out and watch. I don’t think the gate would say anything but if they did just say you’re crewing for someone. Come on by and say hi and I’ll try to help you out if you have any questions.

It’s starting to look like we’re going to have a decent amount SE30s next year in the NE, can’t wait. With NJ motorsports park opening up next year with 2 dates reserved by NASA NE, it might be possible to finally get some MA people up here to race too B)

Sean,

Where in Jersey? I would be willing to make the trip; I am 1.5 hours from the Delaware Memorial Bridge so hopefully it is south (or southern) Jersey.

Kappy - you didn’t know about ThunderBolt? Start anticipating - NOW!

Being built by the same group that developed VIR. Down by the S. Jersey Shore. We are so there.

It’s down in South Jersey, in Millville. I’m not sure if their site is updated, but there isn’t going to be the long 3+mile track. Instead they are building 2 tracks at once, 2.7 mile and 1.8 (I might be off a little on the lengths). One should be ready in June the other will open a few months later. It should easily be worth the drive.

Intersting, the site doesn’t show any change that I saw. I thought the 4 mile course was linked in a couple places (like VIR) so that it could be run as separate, smaller tracks and one huge track. Did that philosophy change or did they run into some other challenge preventing it?

BTW - the pics on the site are current to July 2007.
