Three weeks until CMP. I think I can make it. Can we please start talking smack about actual racing now?

I swear… if I have to read another thread about M20 oiling, engine building, re-engineering coolant paths, or some such bull$hit I’m gonna lose it. Like Jones on 'roids.

Let’s get back to what really matters: Racing. Who is showing up? Who is gonna be fast? Who has taken full advantage of 2011 rules? :wink:

It’s been 6 weeks or so since our last Southeast race. Hope you boys rested up over the winter break!

Go for it. Just remember to start the jump early enough to have overlap by turn in.

I’ll be there, but doing Time Trial with a new car. Deb will be doing Comp School and if she passes she’ll be running the Spec car.

Planning to be there. Bringing snow chains and the e30 front-mount snow plow shipped directly from Bavaria. No new tricks for '11 (that can be shared). Also will have spare rocker arms in the trailer for repair or loan to others - this was my 2010 nemesis.

Look out mid-pack racers - I’ll be after you.

I probably won’t make it there for de3. I did change my membership to SE this year, even though MA/VIR feeds us better on saturday night.

I am hopeful for CMP, but I have a deal closing on that Friday, so I guess we’ll see.

I am a go for the rest of the season, however. B)

I’m not going to make it… I took my car apart and have to install the rear suspension, complete drive train, engine, new windshield, new brake calipers, and a few other things. Plus, I’m not driving 520 miles to freeze my a$$ off. See you all at Road Atlanta!

Fishman, I know some history on the build of your SuperShop car. I worked on it while it was in Birmingham before it was pulled from the build shop. Had good parts at the time. Chuck

I included Al’s GTS entry for the helluvit. Pantas’ car aged a lot in the off season. Russell’s car is handicapped with a 2.0 motor, evidently.:laugh:

One thing to keep in mind - a big change from last year - is the number of Miatas we will be on track with. There are 17 on our list and there are 12 Miatas. There was a pretty massive 2011 rule change that is expected to make the 99+ cars uncompetitive (lower weight but much smaller restrictor plate), so a lot of pop-up headlight Miatas are flocking to NASA where they are perceived to be the overdog. Together with the move of nationals back to MidO, expect to see a lot more Miatas in the Southeast than last year.

Provided we get plenty of room between split starts, the impact (pun intended) should be minimal. Just a heads up.

Hey guys

Looks like I will bring the GTS 1 car to try out at CMP, it should be a bit slower than the spec cars, ran a 2:30 at VIR in the SCCA 13 hour race at VIR. Some changes I made since that race that will be interesting to compare to the spec car…Koni adjustables with coil over springs in the front and adjustable perches in the back and big brakes on the front. I will probably run the 225 R888’s that we ran at VIR, they are beat, maybe do one session on the RA1’s from last year. It will be interesting if the suspension and brake upgrades (?) will make up for the HP difference at CMP, I think I have 130hp at the rear wheels, might get to dyno and weigh before the event. Probably have to so I can legally run GTS 1.

Who will be at CMP by dinner time Friday? Chow at Gus’s? I’ll be on site at about 08. I’ll set up the SpecE30 parking signs.
