Sigh. 08 is shorthand for 0800 or 8AM. I’ll be there all day Friday.
By 1800 I’ll be looking for beer, chow, and SpecE30 comradery. Shortly thereafter I’ll be looking for somewhere to sleep likely to remain above freezing.
Let’s hear it boys. Who will be in the hunt for a podium?
Here are my picks for top 6 (in alphabetical order):
118 Levine, Evan 1987 BMW Spec E30 Gold/Blu
191 Palacio, Eric 1990 BMW 325i Yellow/B
241 Patton, Robert 1987 BMW 325is white/
525 Tower, Jason 1989 bmw 325is white
112 Walsh, David 1989 bmw 325 Slate/Or
800 Wilson, Travis 1987 BMW 325is black
I hope I can get close to mixing it up with that pack. Should be a hell of a dogfight to start the year!

Last year Johan was 0.8 off the track record on Sunday. Track was snowy Saturday morning so it never really rubbered in. With 3 clear days and good horsepower weather, will the record 51.3 fall?

My list is based on the entry list.
Also, I should clarify. That was my list for the top 6 after me and Johan. BAM!
Can we please get back to talking about beer, chow, and SpecE30 comradery now? And finding me someone warm to sleep, er, I mean warm place, yes, a warm place to sleep.

I’m staying at the Holiday Inn in Camden. Unfortunately, I already reserved a king bed, but you are welcome to grab a roll-away, rack on the floor, or whatever. That is one option in case you can’t score a bed in the Palacio Palace on Wheels.

Thanks a lot, but the fun is at the track so I’ll be staying there no matter who’s charity I impose upon, or fail to. Last time I stayed warm and snug at the Palacio Palace, I hit Julio’s car. Er, ah, twice . I felt pretty bad about that.
i’ll be camping in the excursion and will try to bring a load of firewood. anyone have one of those portable fire pit things? i think the halls have one but they’re not regulars.
I don’t think I’m going to make it to drink everyones beer unless I decide at the last minute to be a corner worker again. Hopefully I can make it to VIR this month though.
I am bringing a fire pit, 1/3rd 55 gallon drum carried on top of the Volvo wagon…will be camping in my car, plan on getting drunk and lighting some farts.

I’m gonna get all teary eye’d. I love ya man.
This…is…SpecE30.
Seeing Johan’s car in pieces at Six Sigma today makes me think he won’t be racing at CMP, but I guess a last minute scramble to put it back together is not out of the question for him and the crew.
Looks like it’ll be a good one to watch!

If you think you’re teary eyed now, just wait until Al farts. Or brings “lunch” out of the cooler…
If I hadn’t scheduled a trip to snowboard in Tahoe before the 2011 schedule came out, I’d be running comp school and hopefully racing this weekend. As it is I’ll be doing all that at RA next month.
Lesson learned: No planning trips before the following year’s schedule is released.
Have fun, stay warm and we’ll see you guys in March.
Matt

please email me jtower at gmail. someone there is selling a set of mini wheels that i want so i can steal the wife’s new turbo for track days. the seller said he’d deliver within a reasonable distance so it should be fairly painless.
