Pit Bull Brawl Aftermath

What a weekend, lets hear about it and see some videos.

I learned a few things:

  1. I still suck at qualifying
  2. Never give up, you can get lucky more than once in a race
  3. Scott guy from Florida shouldn’t drink alcohol (unless he enjoys turning into a douche)
  4. Jones’ car is still a solid object when hit

Started 6th thanks to a lucky bump, finished 2nd. Some great racing yesterday! Sorry about the car Tower but should be easy enough to fix.

vimeo seems to be having problems but i got at least one quickie uploaded: http://vimeo.com/11390110

i was bummed about noting getting to drive the sunday race, especially after i finally qualified well. fortunately the damage doesn’t appear to be serious, in fact i stopped at a friend’s house on the way home (with a lift), we removed the bent control arm and pounded the sheetmetal back into good-enough-for-nasa condition, should be good to go once replacement parts arrive tomorrow.

A fun weekend overall, except for the misfortune (engine and incidents) of a few, but overall I think everybody raced each other cleanly and had a great time.

We even managed to pull off a standing start with no drama on Saturday.

Here is my footage from Saturday: http://www.vimeo.com/11390217

Alex Rez got a jump on me at the start and after a few laps he gave me an opening to get back by. Set out after Dave Herrington, and had a really fun race with him. His tires were shot and he eventually spun in 14, handing me the position. A little anticlimactic after the prior action, but I’ll take it.

Nice videos. What was the finished order?

It was great to see everyone. Old and new… Hope to be back out there soon.

Results are up, and sooner than usual. Thanks Bryan C!

You’re welcome!

no fun at all, I want my money back…

Actually, another great weekend of racing with NASA-SE, even though I had multiple problems with the new car, I had great battles both days with lots of close racing and not a scratch. Plus I got a foot exam from Dr. Harrington!

I didn’t have high hopes for your badmitton idea Al, but WTG man, everyone had a great time.

“3. Scott guy from Florida shouldn’t drink alcohol (unless he enjoys turning into a douche)”

Well duuuuuh. What do you mean “turning into a douche”? I roll into the track sober as a douche. You haven’t seen the half of my drunken performances as I wasn’t really good and drunk, and I was racing alone in class. After I come steaming into turn 1 on the start and collect 4 cars in a crash at once, and then take to drinking afterwards to ease the pain, while telling you it was all your fault, only then will you see what the citadel of douchedom really looks like.

I just ordered up a bunch of parts to get my whip back running, so hopefully it will be sooner than later.

Hang on I must be missing something. How are you going to collect 4 cars in the first turn if you’re going to out qualify all of us by 2+ seconds? Draw a picture and post please.

I bet I can arrange for paint ball wars Saturday night at place 15min from Roebling. I’ve never actually done that, but it looks like fun.

Paint ball.
Did that once. The hits leave nice round bruises.

Another great weekend at CMP. As usual, it was great seeing everyone and I cant wait till the next event. I ponied up for some new tires this weekend and it made a big difference from our last CMP outing.

Saturday’s race was great. Started 4th, finished 4th and battled E. Palacio the whole race. He managed to hold on to 3rd place at the finish line by 3 tenths of a second.

Saturday night E. Palacio and I shut down the Badminton court with a decisive win over Al and Evan with viscious KILL SHOTS!!! That rained down on them from above with furious anger and ferocity. Al and Evan didnt play another game of Badminton the entire rest of the weekend they were so embarassed. Those are all facts.

My video is currently processing, but this is Sundays Race. I qualified 5th, started 5th. The right side of the grid took the lucky bump from Tower’s unfortunate incident with Aaron Rankin in qualifying. Evan beat me by 3 hundreths of a second for 2nd place! I slightly botched the 4th gear shift and let him slip by me.

Hopefully Spec E30 put on a good show for the crowd all weekend. See you all next time.

Sunday’s race was a bit more frustrating. Blew through T14 and apparently forgot to slow down after Johan had troubles, trading 2nd place for 4th, and eventually 5th, when I couldn’t find 3rd gear a few laps later. Was able to get back by Andy Peterman to salvage 4th, but a little annoyed at the places tossed away.

Vimeo is still in post-processing, but the Sunday race should be up at this link in a few hours.

That Badminton win is under official protest,…it was dark.

KILL SHOTS are the only two words that could explain the utter dominance that was put on display in the Badminton arena Saturday night.

Had a fun weekend and good racing on Saturday with Travis and Brian.

This one is easy. Because I like to run my mouth, Pantas regularly likes to invert the field when I am at the front of it. Last year at Road Atlanta not only did he invert all of the run groups to put mine at the back, he inverted only my specific run group to put me totally at the back. So, I will qualify first, Pantas will invert the field, I’ll start last, I will pass 3/4 of the field by the starter stand, and when I go steaming full speed ahead, sideways, into turn 1, I will be in 5th, therefore, when I ball the car up, it will be into the four cars running 1-4.

I do not think this requires a map, but let me know. If it really requires a map I’ll draw one.
