OMG Garage Air Conditioner

#1

I was thinking of getting one of those stand up floor ACs from lowes. I can’t do anything for more than a half an hour in there without feeling like death and I just came back from Afghanistan.

Do it. If not for a little AC unit the race car’s garage would be an oven during the Summer. Last night at 10PM it was 92deg.

I had central ac in my old garage. I obscenity in the sweatbox of this obscenity, no a/c bearing, obscenity of my new slave driving obscenity, forced jack lalane sweat it out diet plan, obscenity - new garage.

How well do these stand up AC units work? I have not heard of these, but the heat does make me not want to work on my car. My one car garage currently filled with E30 and E92 M3 parts meaning I have to work outside also make me not want to work on the car.

Air conditioning (or heating) a garage is for wimps. When working on a race car if you aren’t sweating, freezing, or laying on you back in a puddle you aren’t getting the full experience. Likewise for lifts.

That doesn’t apply when someone from the forest of Wisconsin is forcibly moved to North Carolina. I used to think 76 was unbearably hot and now that’s what I set my A/C at in the house in the daytime. I sweat a pool that almost ran out my garage and down the driveway while I was reinstalling my lollipops today. I drank 3 32oz gatorades and had to go inside and cool off 4 time while I was putting them on.

You guys crack me up.

When I was young and dumb I had a hankering to find out what I was made of.

Eventually I got over that.

Now I’m more interested in finding out how comfortable I can be.

And besides, now that I’m forty obscenity eight years old, it’s recently become necessary to wear glasses. And when I’ve got sweat pouring off of me I can’t see out of the obscenity things.

Obscenity me to tears.

I know a lot of guys that have put window units in their garage. Either in the window or the wall and they work much better then the free standing units. The free standing units don’t move as much air and they can get in the way. Also, a decent window unit is about $100-$200 and comes with a remote. All men love anything with a remote control.

CostCo has a great one on sale this month
I planned on ordering one
I’m in hot NC as well

Just move up to Seattle…you will want a heater instead of A/C. We’ve been lucky to get into the 60’s around here so far this spring. Yuck!

I was also thinking of putting in a window unit by my ceiling and venting it into the crawl space. I don’t have any windows in my garage.
