Bill, I know you think that is funny, but it just comes across as mean.
No smack talk for CMP? Come on...
Well, Im officially out. I had all kinds of man nerve last night even with the snow forecast…but I turned to jelly legs when the mighty tow vehicle slid backwards down my street, complete with race car attached. See you all at RA, with studded RA-1’s

Gasman, Travis is making “the sign” right now.

So what did the sign say? “Gasman is a genius”
edit: If there is still power in Kershaw, somebody give us and update.
I don’t know. If weather gets better I can get down tomorrow and still run afternoon and Sunday. But, sure hope I dont drop a wheel, since it’s going to be covered in snow.
Okay, so the power is out in Kershaw…I guess no one thought to bring a generator. Should someone call the National Guard? Oh wait Ranger is there…on second thought, somebody dial 911.
there’s gotta be six inches of snow on the ground in camden and it’s still coming down pretty good, i don’t see how we’ll be on track sat but we’ll see what the morning brings. at least today was dry for comp school, the enduro got a dusting of snow at the end. i’ve been waiting for six months to race, i’ll be damned if i let an unrequested surplus of low thermal energy precipitation stop me.
250 miles of interstate from Atlanta. 8 1/2 hours of white knuckles. 450 hp was a bit too exciting at times. Fat summer tires suck in the snow. Bring on Turn 1 bitches!!!

Steve = Arrive and Drive.
Brave to take that mule through those conditions.
So what it etiquette around here… can we talk smack after a race or only before?
Cause I’d really like to say “I told you so” to Jones right about now.

Smack talk is accepted, nay, expected after the race. However, the amount of smack is directly proportional to the size of the target you are painting on yourself.
So step out there and really stir 'em up before you ever get your rookie sticker off. Or, as we say around here, “pull a Reznikov.”

He’s just going to blame his tires anyways.

Evan -
Have you seen Jones’ car? That sh!t didn’t happen from a ladder falling on it in the garage!!
That side-by-side thing exiting Turn 3? You ain’t seen nothing yet. Dude might go all Mid Atlantic on your whip at the next event.

I’m back to to report that I was wrong. About half a dozen badly bent cars from this weekend’s SCCA race at CMP…

They did 1 1/2 laps before the green so they’d have a full reconnaissance lap.
As a result, they didn’t send a pace car out with the field. I don’t know how much that contributed, but it seemed like the pace before the green was pretty brisk.
PS - I think you can screw up a start anywhere. I still believe with a controlled field you could start on the back and have more room to sort out.
PPS - They used scaffolding to build a temporary start stand so everyone could see the green.
Steve don’t be so quick to dismiss your theory.
I think the first thing they need to try is maybe a different brand of scaffolding, or make it a foot taller. In several years or so after exploring all those variables we might finally be able to say it isn’t a good idea.
